Stayed Dec 31, 1969Perfect location amazing view of Hayle across the sea minutes from carbis bay …short walk to train station … train ride along coast to st ives . The walk to st ives takes about 25-30 minutes. Porth Kidney beach a short drive away is a must dog friendly all year and just lovely. Would definitely stay again, would definitely recommend .

Stayed Dec 31, 1969This was our second stay at Fernhill. Our first stay was in Apartment 6 and was ideal for two people and we have no hesitation in recommending this. This time around we stayed in apartment No.5. There were four adults plus one small dog and again the apartment was excellent. The veranda was more than adequate for four people to have a meal on the very comfortable Ratten furniture. Another plus point was the lovely view from Fernhill. Overall a wonderful place to stay so thank you to Cornwall Hideaways and to the owners of No.5 Fernhill. Please pass these comments on to the owners of apartment No.5 Stuart and Pauline Scholey

Stayed Dec 31, 1969The apartment is ideally located looking over Carbis Bay, tucked away just off the main road. Everything about the apartment is of high quality, from the bedding to the kitchen utensils. It definitely felt like we had a week of luxury. Would highly recommend this apartment.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969We had a gorgeous week despite the G7. The apartment was clean and comfortable and very well equipped and the bed was very comfortable and the view is just incredible. The balcony doesn’t get the sun after about 3pm which is a shame but other than that it was entirely perfect, if a little more expensive than we would usually pay.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969Had a brilliant stay. Apartment is spot on and exactly as per the photos. It has everything you need from hairdryers to a nutri bullet. Great location- a short walk down a path (quite steep) to the beach.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969Lovely property in a good location only a few minutes walk (if steep) to the beach, railway station and shops. Great views from the balcony. Very nicely furnished and styled, the owners should be very proud. Nice to find a bottle of milk, wine and a bag of crisps waiting for us. The only let down was the housekeeping. Considering arrival and departure times are now later and earlier (5pm and 9am) to allow for 'deep cleaning' due to Covid. I was left wondering what they'd done with the extra two hours. All the kitchen cupboards around the knobs were sticky and grubby, the work tops and hob were tacky, I had to clean them with some Cif. The bed was obviously made in a rush or just without care as the corners of the fitted sheet hadn't been pulled down over the mattress properly and the duvet cover was on inside out! I had to pull the bedside cabinet forward to access the wall socket and there was, and probably still is, quite a layer of dust and hair behind the bed which could have easily been cleaned with the crevice nozzle on the vacuum. My husband lost a slipper under the sofa and on retrieval found it covered in dust and fluff. This isn't rocket science. Making a bed and cleaning down obvious touch points and surfaces are basics... especially during a pandemic. I think the problem is the use of trigger sprays instead of a good old cream cleaner which is a gentle abrasive and removes the dirt. As I didn't want to faff around on my weeks holiday, calling the office to complain I just got on and cleaned it myself... it only took a few minutes. Just a shame the cleaner didn't do it in the first place...it would have only taken them a few minutes too.
