Welcome to the Mothership, an octagonal post and beam cottage built for those with a love of the outdoors. Located on our small farm in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, we are a perfect launching point for adventure. Lake James and the Linville Gorge are only 20 minutes away, Asheville 45 minutes, and Charlotte only an hour. Explore countless waterfalls, miles of trails, or kayak our beautiful rivers during the day, and relax in the hot tub and shoot pool in the evening.

Stayed Sep 13, 2025Absolutely as advertised! Clean, quite & cozy, this is a must stay. We were in town for work, but also to celebrate our 12th wedding anniversary and our boxers 12th birthday. Can't say enough great things about this place and we're looking forward to our next stay.

Stayed Aug 22, 2025I enjoy staying in different styled homes when traveling. This is by far the coolest, and my most favorite one! Had everything you need, from amenities, to little things like utensils. Awesome stay, quiet area, stars are beautiful when relaxing in the hot tub. Mr Burke also was quick and professional to respond to any messages or questions.

Stayed May 16, 2025We loved the quirky round shape of the “mothership”! Location was close to Marion and Morganton and close to 40. We enjoyed the hot tub and played some pool too! Bed was comfortable and we had everything we needed. Owner had very good communication with us. Description was accurate.

Stayed Apr 23, 2025Wonderful place to stay! Very cozy, very clean! We loved the hot tub and the cabin was pretty and very peaceful. We came from Pennsylvania to make a stop in Marion and decided to make a vacation out of it. This was the perfect fit for us. We traveled to Asheville, the Linville Gorge, Lake James, the Catawba Falls.
