Stayed Sep 12, 2024Stopped in to see our son. This property was close, clean and convenient. Host had excellent communication and was very well set up to help us get in and out easily.

Stayed Jun 26, 2024Great value for such an expensive city. Comfy bed, good water pressure and heat. Location is excellent. Entry through alleyway is a little sketchy if you enter from the opposite end (the one furthest from the street) but if you enter from the closer side you're fine. DC can be sketchy like that, but we didn't experience anything dangerous when approaching from the shorter side. I would stay here again.

Stayed Mar 28, 2024The Stay was wonderful, as stated by others, the ally and some of the walk if you get off on the wrong side of the metro station can be a bit sketchy at night (get off towards the elevator, not towards the monument then you are basically right there), but once we entered in the back yard, the space was beautiful and clean! Would stay again.

Stayed Aug 29, 2023If you enjoy rats, rat droppings, dark alleys with addicts in need of emergency services, and an area with crime so out of control that police have instituted a mandatory curfew – then this property is right for you. The entrance to the property is literally in a dangerous alley with all of the aforementioned issues visible on any given day at any time of the day. I have never stayed somewhere so dangerous and sketchy – and I genuinely believe that this property should not be allowed to host guests. The alley entrance and the situation in that alley (rats, rat feces, literal crackheads, emergency responders dealing with addicts, etc) are what makes this property particularly problematic. The front of the property doesn’t allow for guests to enter, and the main street is not much better. There were at least five vehicle break-ins outside the house while I stayed at this property. The area in general has so much crime that it is, at the time of this writing, under mandatory police curfew -- just search for DC U Street curfew. My stay was for seven nights, and I would never advise anyone at all -- much less solo travellers (particularly women) to stay at this property. On the plus side, the host is very responsive and the modest studio was fine on the inside. But, the surroundings are so troubling that I cannot in good conscience fail to share these important details with other potential guests.

Stayed Dec 27, 2022This small space lives big. A very workable kitchen has been cleverly tucked into a studio apartment. Close to a Metro stop it’s walkable to many good restaurants and Trader Joe’s. The owner’s printed sign in the bathroom prohibiting the flushing of toilet paper is our only hesitation to giving this a 5 star review. A small wastebasket was provided. Hopefully this plumbing situation is only temporary. We asked for clarification with the owner and she said indeed no toilet paper could be flushed. This should be spelled out on the listing.

Stayed Sep 19, 2022Excellent stay in this basement studio. We were able to get street parking, and the host put a temporary permit on the dashboard of our car (with our permission of course) which made things a lot easier for us. Bed was comfy and we had everything we needed for our stay in DC. Wish we could have met her, next time…
