A walk to the beach in the morning or evening to view the skyline of San Francisco and the evenings' gorgeous sunsets makes this island special. Two ferry locations to take you across the Bay Bridge to the Embarcadero in San Francisco. Bus nearby to take you straight to Bart. Also a new Historic multiplex movie theater. There is quick, easy access to all major freeways, 20 minutes from UC Berkeley campus, and many excellent restaurants on College Ave and Telegraph Ave, and nearby Jack London Square on the Bay, also within a short distance from Alameda to Oakland or Berkeley. Fun to take a stroll on Park Street with consignment stores, antiques, lots of small unique stores, Thrift Store shopping at Salvation Army or Goodwill, Oakland Museum nearby with great exhibits. Free the first Sunday of the month. We also have a new library that is truly an asset to Alameda. In Jack London Square there is a Farmer's Market on the weekends, also a Premier Jazz Club Yoshi's is located in Jack London Square and many others close by venues for live music and dance lounges. Also, many upscale restaurants there and only 10 minutes away by car. So much to do in this area that is near
Maria was very accommodating and got back to us promptly. There was room enough for the 4 of us to have our own space if when we wanted it. The kitchen was small but had everything we needed. The beds were comfortable. Good access to Oakland, Berkley and San Francisco. We would return to stay at Maria's place if in the area again.
This is a great property in a wonderful neighborhood. Maria, the host, was excellent and helped us out as needed throughout. We loved Alameda. The property was very convenient to great restaurants and coffee shops. It was also a great base for exploring San Francisco and nearby colleges.
Maria met us for a brief walk about at her beautiful home. She’s lovely and had everything ready for us earlier than the check in time.
We chose this historic property over the overpriced area hotels and we’re glad we did. Maria is an attentive but non intrusive hostess. She met us and provided a brief instructions and tour. The unit was well stocked, bright and comfortable and the location ideal, a short walk to most Alameda dining and shopping yer quiet and pleasant. As a historic house there’s creaks and clunk’s occasionally but that’s part of the charm.
It was great. The friendly owner gave a great orientation when we arrived.
Gorgeous historical type home. Great host. Great location. Nice introduction of California living. I was suprised there were no A/C system instaled. But one does not need A/C most of the time in the bay area (one night we could of used a/c ) but heat vawe was 110 in land when we took napa tours away from bay area. other in my group rented brand new home it also was not bult with A/C close to shoping at trader joes and other restaurants. Host Maria took the time to chat with my mom, but rearly seen other time of the 9 days we were there.
The flat is lovely, in a quiet neighborhood , yet you can easily walk to the shopping areas, a mall with groceries and Park Street with many restaurants and shops. The flat is furnished with charm and taste. Also equipped all for of your daily needs. There is a beautiful garden for a pleasant place to read and relax. Marie is a gracious host, and answered all of our questions. There is a binder with menus of the local restaurants and things to do in the area. We enjoyed our stay very much.
Thoroughly enjoyed my stay. My main challenge was the internet connection which seemed to be very slow.
I love this property. This is at least the fifth time I’ve stayed here. The apartment is lovely, fills like a home. Great walkable neighborhood. Quiet and safe. Maria is one of the most gracious hosts on vrbo.
Maria, is the perfect host, always helpful but stays out of your way unless you need her. She is an absolute gem. The home is well appointed and the location is right in the heart of town. I shall return.
