Kitchen was nice
We were pleasantly surprised when arriving to this property. Location was excellent! Close to Foxwoods and Mohegan. Rooms were clean and neat. Everything we needed was right in front of us! Six of us enjoy coffee on the patio outback in the morning. Definitely would stay here again when coming back to Connecticut. Gary was a great host, letting us know that if we needed anything we could contact him. It turns out everything was perfect so we did not have to contact him but a good to know he was available in case we needed him.
Gave us the wrong code to get into the main house.
We loved that Foxwoods was right down the street and we could all hang out together in a house setting instead of having separate hotel rooms and not be able to really hang out together
We've never had such a horrible experience! Bathroom was dirty. Towels were not washed and had stains. Couch in a living room had a white stain. Carpet in the living room, was a like a towel, very slippery. My daughter (6 year old) feld down, but thank God didn't injury herself. Bed sheets were very old, and was riping in some places. Utensils in a kitchen drawer were dirty. One of the bedrooms as well as living room don't have air conditioning. One of the bedrooms, which looked like a bed was placed in a garage didn't have outlet, lamp on a stand was just a decoration. The other bedroom's air conditioner was so loud, we had to turn it off because it was impossible to sleep. No lights in the backyard. Backyard furniture was really old and probably wasn't washed since the fall of last year. Shampoos/conditioners were half empty bottles. No body wash at all. Toilet is not installed correctly, it's moving every time we sat or got up. Entrance window on the door, is sooner or later will fall down. Kitchen sponge was disgusting, we had to clean dishes with a paper towel. The room with a noise a/c had a hanging outlet, on the way to the bed and nightstand. I did contact VRBO and made a report, because someone can really get hurt over there.
Pretty clean older house, the nooks and crannies could be a little cleaner and a few spots in the bath room where missed but overall a cheap place to stay and gamble 5 mins away
The apartment worked out very well for us to visit into Mystic with our young kids. One bedroom does not have an AC, but we were able to keep it cool enough by leaving the door open at night and a fan blowing in. There was an issue during our stay that Gary was extremely responsive to and remedied quickly. The kitchen has bare essentials for pots and pans, but if you’re planning to do a lot of cooking ensure you bring everything you need (oil, salt etc).
The outside seating area is full of leaves and sticks. The back door doesn’t open from the outside for whatever reason and needs propped open. No outside light in back. Beds horrific.
We throughly enjoyed our stay at this property. We traveled with 2 kids, a 3 year old and a 10 month old. This property was very accommodating for our week long stay.
My overall impression exceeded expectations. I only wish all bedrooms had air condition units.
We had a super last minute booking because there was a gas leak at the complex where we booked first. We were visiting our son at the Submarine Base and really wanted a kitchen so we could make him some home-cooked meals. We were able to book within two days and Gary got us what we needed. We arrived at night and are unfamiliar with the area, so finding it was a little bit challenging. Google Maps said U-turn at the Dunkin' Donuts and we couldn't figure out why - all we saw was darkness where there were actually houses... LOL! So, just a heads up, if you are arriving at night - ask for markers. This said it was a new listing, so I think they are still getting some things together. It's just missing details that would make it a 5-star rating, but it worked for what we needed last minute, especially since pretty much everything in that area is more expensive. Note: If you ARE into board games, the ones there are for mature audiences (except for Trouble) so, if you want something a little more family-friendly, bring your own.
