The Neighborhood:
Penn Quarter is a neighborhood in the East End of Downtown Washington, D.C. north of Pennsylvania Avenue, NW. Its boundaries are not well established, but they appear to extend along F Street NW from 5th to 10th Streets, and approximately H Street on the north where Penn Quarter abuts or partially overlaps with Chinatown. Penn Quarter is southeast of the Metro Center shopping district. Penn Quarter has been rejuvenated over the past several decades, stimulated first by the Pennsylvania Avenue Development Corporation (PADC) and later, following the recession in the 1990s, by the Verizon Center, a sports, concert and event arena that opened nearby at 7th and F streets in 1997 as the MCI Center. Penn Quarter now boasts a variety of entertainment and commercial establishments including museums, theaters, restaurants, bars, and contemporary art galleries. The area is also home to a popular farmers market and several food, wine, art, and culture focused festivals.
Penn Quarter is home to many restaurants, cultural, and entertainment venues in Washington, D.C. On Thursday afternoons in spring, summer, and fall, the FRESHFARM Penn Quarter farmers market is open on 8th Street, just south of E Street. The Newseum is located at the intersection of 6th Street and Pennsylvania Avenue, NW. The building also includes offices and television studio space, The Source restaurant by Wolfgang Puck, and the Newseum Residences, an apartment rental community. The neighborhood is served by a variety of recreational and entertainment facilities including seven theaters, Lucky Strike bowling and several exercise clubs. Other neighborhood amenities include several coffee shops and a teahouse / restaurant on 8th Street; three salons with day spas; the nearby Landmark E Street Cinema, which screens independent films; Regal Theater; and shops selling clothing, jewelry, ice cream, and books, among other things. Over the past thirty years the neighborhood has transformed from a sleepy, nondescript part of downtown into a vibrant 24-hour residential and commercial community.

It may be possible that the photos are not an exact match since the layout of various apartments is different. However, the size, area, facilities, and amenities of all apartments are the same. By reserving this property, the guest agrees that they are accepting of the fact that photos may not exactly match the actual apartment to which they are allotted, and they will not stake any claim for the mismatch of the photos.

Keys are a minimum of $150/key to replace. A fee will apply if they are lost, or not returned on time before 11 am. You will be fully responsible for damages and noise complaints.

We are not responsible for loss, damage, or theft of cash, jewelry, or other valuables left unattended in guest rooms. We are also not responsible for articles/valuables left behind by guests and found after guest's departure.

A refundable security deposit of up to $500 might be asked upon booking. The property host will contact you directly.

Please do not go to the leasing office, instead, directly call the customer hotline number for any concerns.

Payment Schedule:
We will take a prepayment of $100 upon booking confirmation, prepayment is taken from your total and the remaining balance will be charged to you 14 days before your arrival. If the reservation is within 14 days before arrival we will charge your reservation full.

A 3.5% Card Fee will be collected however other payment options are available to avoid this fee - please contact host directly.

    The apartment was clean; had everything we needed and kitchen was complete with all the items needed. The location was great. Walking distance to many places to see and close by restaurants to dine in. Parking was extra. The person in charge was in contact with us to make sure we checked in ok and everything was well or if we needed anything, which was helpful. We will definitely book again with Pelican residencies. Great experience!

    Not as clean as it should be, pillowcases had makup on them in one of the rooms and the fans in the bathrooms had dust and fuzz all over. Also no cable or direct tv. Overall its a great location.

    We love this location! It has great access to the Mall, museums and federal buildings, as well as many super restaurants. The apartment is sparkling clean and features wonderful bathrooms and a comfortable king-sized bed.

    First comment has to be about the location, it truly can't be beat. The hosts were attentive both before and during the stay, check in process was seamless, and the front desk personnel were excellent. Would definitely stay again!

    This location worked out so well for my family, I can’t say it enough. We easily utilized DC Metro, (4) train stations w/in minutes; tooled around the Mall with Lime scooters/bikes and feet; only used ride share (Uber) a couple of times, because of the record heat/humidity during our stay. The building is obviously in process of some construction, but it was still relatively quiet and clean; property managers (of the building) were all very professional and helpful. The owner of the unit contact was not quick to respond, and ultimately never followed through on our request, but this was not a deal breaker; for high-end cost, would have expected better appointments to utilize the kitchen, and unit appliances; one dishwasher pod, no laundry detergent/dryer sheets; we stayed a week, and had to buy so we could wash the one set of (4) bath towels. Again, our experience, and the location, far overshadow the cons, but we WERE paying a premium. We wouldn’t hesitate to return, or recommend, and all told it was a wonderful week in DC! Thank you!
