Stayed Mar 6, 2026The rental property is not located at the address listed in the listing; it is in a different location, as the landlord informed me after I arrived in New York. So there’s no point in checking the location on Google Maps or looking at the photos. The apartment is located in the basement of an old and neglected building. The ceiling height ranges from 180 to 190 cm. It is a basement converted into an apartment. There are no separate bedrooms; instead, there is a single room with a kitchenette, two sleeping areas, and a small bathroom. The place is fairly clean, with hot and cold water, and the kitchenette is equipped with the basics. The biggest problems with this place are the pipes running along the ceiling, likely from the heating system, which heat up to very high temperatures. They run above the beds, right over your head, and heat up to high temperatures, making sleeping there seem dangerous. You can get burned by these pipes, which is exactly what happened to us. Other issues include noise from the heating system and a very loud refrigerator (probably broken). The entrance to the basement looks shabby, and we once saw two rats running near the front door. I definitely do not recommend this place to tourists.

Stayed Aug 24, 2025Location is the main reason I've stayed here twice. It's a 5 minute walk to the 7 train that will take me to Manhattan or Citi Field, etc. This funky little basement apartment has everything I need.My host was available to text with throughout my stay.I was able to sign in to my YouTube TV and Netflix accounts easily on the television. The neighborhood might not be for everyone, but I always felt safe walking around. And there are lots of restaurants and corner stores nearby.Ceiling is low, so if you're over 6'2 or so you might have an issue. I'm 6' and it was fine.I'll likely book here again next time I stay in NYC.
