Stayed Jul 26, 2024I honestly wish I could say the stay here was pleasant, but nothing could be further from the truth. The photos were misleading and did not depict the apartment or the surroundings accurately. 1910 Calvert is a beautiful refinished home with 2 apartments, a detached laundry area, and arcade room, but to say we felt unsafe here is an understatement of the year. We stayed in apartment C and to keep from being too long winded I will sum it up the best I can. The designated parking space was adjacent to the neighboring property with EXTREMELY AGGRESSIVE dogs. On three separate instances my husband had to block the mangled fence abutting the wooden one for the property to keep the dogs from escaping and attacking one of my kids or myself. The owners must have known this was an issue because every 5 feet a sign was hung in the wooden fence warning guests about the neighbors dogs. It’s not a matter of if the dogs attack, it’s when they do and I just pray that a child isn’t killed or an adult honestly for that matter. I’m not exaggerating here. This is a terrible situation that will not end well. Please do not stay here with little ones. The front door handle was broken, the window in the shower was missing the frosted glass for privacy, the neighborhood was filled with more condemned homes than occupied and several people approached us for money at the home. Lastly, the apartment was so tiny you couldn’t turn around. I mean tiny. You had to turn sideways in the rooms.

Stayed Jul 21, 2024The space was marginally adequate for two people, but difficult to use. The queen size beds took up so much of the bedrooms that we had to walk around the beds sideways to get to drawers. We visited in the summertime with hot humid weather, and the comforters on the beds were more appropriate for winter. Consequently, we were either too hot with the comforters on, or too cold with just the sheet. The bathroom had only one towel hook, no shelving or vanity on which to Place toiletries, and the toilet paper holder turned upside down when toilet paper was put on it. The kitchen was well equipped, but surprisingly, there was no place to sit and eat. The only table and chairs were outside, where we weren't going to eat in hot, humid, and rainy weather. We ended up eating in the living room from plates on our laps or on the low decorative tables. There was no surface on which to write, so I used a three-ring binder I found in the property to address correspondence on. Small ants crawled from the binder onto my correspondence, and I thought I saw a palmetto bug crawl under one of the tables when I turned on the light when we came in at night..
