Beautiful one bedroom apt in a newly trending area with great access to downtown. Enjoy our sweet outdoor covered patio area exclusively for guest use and a perfect spot to work from home, relax and spend some quality time, and sipping a cup of tea or coffee on a rainy afternoon. Just Just 3 miles directly north of the White House our apartment is the ideal space for couples, families, or traveling executives to make the most out of our Nation's Capitol!

The Space:
OurCozy apartment comes complete with two Smart TVs (with streaming capabilities), allowing guests to keep up with their favorite shows plus a a fully equipped kitchenette and a generous sized fridge. Perfect for families unwinding after their day traversing the sights.

Benefit from heated floors throughout the unit, providing a cozy and comfortable option for the colder winter nights (in addition to the wall mounted mini splits wherein guests can adjust the temperature to their preference).

Our one bedroom ground level apartment has the bedding breakdown as:

One queen sized bed in the Main Bedroom
One queen sized sleeper sofa
One twin sized chaise in the living room (perfect for kiddos)

Guest Access:
Guests will have access to the entire lower level unit. It is not shared.
There is a family living upstairs. Please note that the everyday sounds and noises of family life (footsteps, stairs, kids playing, etc.) can be heard in both directions. You will undoubtedly hear them (and they will hear you) as they go about their everyday life.

The Neighborhood:
The apartment is in 16th St heights which borders Petworth, a newly trending and becoming popular with families and the younger D.C. crowd as it's residential but has great access to downtown. 

There is a true sense of community here, and everyone looks out for each other. Porch culture reigns supreme and families pushing prams, and folks walking their dogs.
You will find lots of great little eateries and coffee shops on 14th st, Georgia Ave and in Petworth.

Fun facts about the neighborhood; Lincoln's Cottage (off of Rock Creek Church Road), where President Lincoln used to vacation when he wanted to get away from the city, is one of this neighborhood’s hidden gems. The nearby Rock Creek Cemetery dates back to 1712;  both the Cemetery and the Armed Forces Retirement Home are on the National Register of Historic Places. The Fitzgerald Tennis Center is just a short stroll away.

Rock Creek Park is a stone's throw from the apartment, and is a true city escape. While you have great access to the hustle and bustle of DC's expanding history - you are a short stroll from the soothing connection to nature that is so rare to find in a cityscape. Enjoy hiking trails, horseback riding, wildlife walks, tennis, bicycling and the gorgeous, ranger-led Planetarium located in the park!!

Getting Around:
We are nestled between two metro stations; Georgia Ave-Petworth (1 mile away), green and yellow lines, Cleveland Park (2 miles away. Guests can walk or bike there, via the lovely and historic Rock Creek park), where you can catch the red line. Our neighborhood is full of transportation options!  
We're a 15 minute drive from the White House (Uber's are plentiful in the area), but there are buses that can take you directly to the National Mall in 35/40 minutes. 

There is a bus stop 1 minute away from the home (16th St NW & Decatur St NW). The S2 bus can have guests on the White House steps in half an hour, or directly to the National Mall. If you get off on 12th St NW and Constitution Ave NW, you can walk to the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History in under 5 minutes. The S2 bus can also take you to Metro Center Station (red line). From there you're just 3 stops from Union Station, which is nestled among the major sights, including the U.S. Capitol Building, the Smithsonian Museums, and the National Mall. 
Bus lines in the immediate vicinity (70/79/52/54 within two blocks).

Unrestricted on-street parking can be found in front of the residence. 

Uber and Lyft taxi's are plentiful in the area as well.

    Although this is a basement unit (think small, high windows and painted concrete floors), it is very thoughtfully and tastefully furnished and decorated so it doesn’t feel too basement-like. I appreciated the full-size fridge w: water filter-dispenser, nice complement of kitchen supplies (dishes, coffee makers, kettle, microwave, etc), comfy bed with down pillows, desk,ample outlets, ample towels, good shower.

    We really loved and appreciated this cute bedroom, bathroom, kitchen/living suite. The kitchen was well appointed with aesthetic touches. The bed was super comfy and had enough room to lay out our suitcases and feel set up. If we need to come back or have overflow from our family's house nearby, we would definitely stay here again, or have relatives stay for overflow. The neighborhood is very quiet and pretty. Thanks so much for the comfortable visit!

    I must admit I had the hardest time getting a parking permit but I exchanged a few emails and they took care of the problem before I arrived. It was greatly appreciated!The property was located in a great location essentially 10 mins from everywhere I needed to be.Quiet with a private entry...would definitely recommend needed to be

    We were impressed by the consistent communication and incredibly well-stocked kitchen -- really thoughtful of hosts to stock fridge with milk, and chips/salsa (besides an assortment of tea and coffee). Sleepingwise, it was pretty tight in the living area once we had the beds made. We didn't put them away during the day either, bc it was kind of a hassle and we were hardly there except at night. We had two adults and three kids, and the sleeping options were ok for us, but I think it would be very difficult with teenagers and/or adults in the living area. The convertible beds would be very uncomfortable otherwise, but were fine for my elementary aged kids. The bedroom was perfectly fine. We enjoyed being part of a neighborhood, but did find that it took much longer to get back from downtown than we expected due to there being stoplights on every block. It would be a great place to live if you stayed long enough to figure out bus routes. It was a pleasant stay and we felt like hosts were very eager to make sure we had everything we needed (though nothing came up during our stay).

    This property was great! Easy to access (although Uber drivers get a little confused on where to drop you off) and well maintained. The property was clean with all the amenities you would need. I definitely recommend booking here if you're considering it.

    This apartment was perfect for our family of 5! Easy walk to the bus stop to get into the city for a day of exploring! Great kitchen supplies for cooking and a comfortable, quiet spot for resting after a long day of touring!
