Check us on out IG @thebirdsandthetreesvacations for our best rates. Wake to sunshine and citrus in our cozy vintage-themed casita, perfectly located near all your favorite San Diego attractions. This studio offers a full kitchen, comfy bed, and complimentary coffee to start your day. Cook in or explore, then unwind in our wellness oasis—soak in the jacuzzi, warm up in the sauna, or relax by the fire pit.

The Space:

This sweet little guest suite casita has everything you need in a compact space. It's a true studio, with kitchen open to the bedroom/living area. This cozy vacation home is situated in a centralized location, close to all the best attractions. Save some money and cook your meals using our stove, oven, fridge, and microwave, and enjoy complimentary coffee—whether you're brewing a slow morning cup as sunlight filters in through the curtains or grabbing a quick sip before heading out for the day. You'll love this cozy nook.

Relax in our wellness oasis with firepit, jacuzzi, and infrared sauna—light the firepit as the sun sets and feel the cool evening air on your skin, or sink into the warm, bubbling water of the jacuzzi under the stars. The sauna offers a deep, dry heat to help you unwind and reset.

This is an inclusive place (race, gender, religion, age, sexual orientation).

We have two Electric Scooters available for your use. We require a fully refundable $100 deposit for the use of the e-bikes. Let us know if you want to use them and we'll have them ready and provide a lock.

The entire space is less than 300 square feet total. You'll walk into the French sliding doors right into the main room. First is the kitchen area, complete with a sink, some basic dishes, a mini-fridge, microwave, and Keurig coffee maker. Feel free to cook as much as you'd like. The gas oven and stove are full-size to accommodate whatever cooking you'd like to do—whether you're frying eggs with the windows open to the morning breeze or roasting vegetables as golden hour rolls in.

Since this is a studio, the kitchen is open to the sleeping/living area. The bathroom and small closet are located in the back of the space and are closed off by a pocket door. It's a small space, but we think it's perfect for one or two people. Curl up on the bed with a book or stream your favorite show on the Smart TV as the evening quiet settles in.

Outdoor Amenities: Feel free to use the jacuzzi, infrared sauna, and gas firepit. This space is shared with the hosts, but we do respect your privacy when using it. Our policy is no outdoor amenity use between the hours of 10PM–7AM to respect quiet hours for our neighbors.

We have free street parking in our neighborhood and on our street. It can get crowded at night. Let us know if you are going to be checking in late, and we can leave our driveway open for you. Other than that, we do not provide a dedicated parking spot. This is an urban neighborhood where street parking is the norm.

Other things to note: The unit has no air conditioning, but comes with a space heater for colder days and multiple fans. Most homes in our neighborhood don't have AC, as we rarely have enough hot days to warrant needing it! There's a strong ceiling fan to keep the air circulating, and we also have a standing/tower fan and mini personal fan for your use. With the nice breeze that kicks in almost every day around 5PM, we hope you'll stay nice and cool in the evenings with the windows and doors open to let the air in. Our hottest time of year is end of July to early September, although we can still have some hot days through early October.

We live in a busy city neighborhood near the airport. We aren't directly in the flight path, but you may hear some airplane noises between the hours of 5AM and 10PM. If the noise bothers you, we recommend closing the windows and turning on the fan—the hum of the fan tends to soften the outside sounds and makes for a peaceful night’s rest.

Very well thought out Casita, just what the Doc ordered. Very close to Balboa Park, Gaslamp district and downtown.

Such a great stay and an incredibly communicative and responsive host. They went above and beyond for us to help make sure our trip went smooth during a busy time of year and we couldn’t have asked for a better stay.

I highly recommend this casita to stay at! It’s nice and cozy with all the things you need for your self or with a +1. The location is awesome right by San Diego and a quick drive to Coronado Island. The host was fantastic and extremely communicative prior to us staying and had zero issues with the place. Thank you for hosting!!!

We loved our stay at this Golden Hill casita! Located in a quiet neighborhood just minutes from Balboa Park, the casita is a great little hideaway with easy access to the best of San Diego. The casita is cute and compact but has all you need for a comfortable stay, with the huge bonuses of a sauna, jacuzzi and e-bikes, which made it extra-special! Chelsea is an excellent host, providing detailed directions for everything, responding quickly and checking in regularly just to make sure we had everything we needed. Highly recommend!

I booked the San Diego Casita for my boyfriend's birthday and we LOVED it! The space was very clean and a perfect size for 2. We loved the bed and bedding so much, we asked for the brand of sheets- SO comfy. We tried a few of the recommendations from the list the host left and they were also great! I appreciate the local recommendations to help filter through the best spots to try! We used the hot tub, E-bikes, and fire pit and they were all in great condition. The neighborhood was quiet but lots to do in the area! It was a perfect stay for us young travelers. It was truly an amazing experience, and we will hopefully be back soon!

Stayed here with my 15 year old daughter for a quick impromptu stay and city visit. Everything was well stocked and clean and charming. E-bike offering and sauna was extra bonus. Would love to stay here again, hosts were very responsive and helpful!

I can't believe what this stay can offer to guests in this reasonable price. Sauna and jacuzzi are my favorite part of the stay. It is residential area, so its really quiet at night. Location is also perfect! Very close to the downtown SD, so it is really convenient to go anywhere in SD. Tons of street parking near the stay, so didn't have any problem finding one.
