We loved our stay ! It was just as described . Great location . Comfy and clean . Beds were very comfortable . Extra pillows and blankets were in the closet . . Bathroom was very small but to be expected in a New York apt . Bedrooms and living area were very big by NY standards. In the apartment there was a good sized fridge and microwave and water kettle and coffee pot. There were paper cups left for us for tea. In the basement there were mugs and dishes, etc. if you wanted to use them or if you want to cook something. We were happy with buying milk and coffee and made our drinks in our apartment. Staff at the front desk were very, very nice and very accommodating. Our apartment was on the 12th floor and the elevator took us straight to our room. Beautiful old building restored. Excellent value for the money. Four of us stayed there for four days. I highly recommend staying here and would definitely come back.

There needs to be someone who can respond to a question. I was stuck there because of the blizzard, so ASAP I was inquiring whether we could extend or not but we had checkout the next day. Didn’t hear back until we had already left and had to find a hotel nearby.

The space was in a great location for most of the attractions we hoped to see while in NYC for Christmas. There were a few challenges as I received an access code for the building but the code had expired. Additionally, we did not receive a code for the unit itself.Someone let us into the building but we waited over 45 minutes to get into the unit because there was nobody at the desk to help us access the code we needed and nobody responded to the text I sent. I will say the beds were comfortable, and the heating in the unit worked well. Some of the challenges were the fact that we brought a baby with us and the building itself, including the elevators are not really not equipped to handle a stroller. We were only able to use one of the two elevators because the width of the stroller would not fit into the other elevator so we often had to wait. Another challenge or issues we faced in the unit is the plug in the bathtub does not work so this prevented a warm bath after a cold day. The television in the bedrooms did not work. Missing blind slats allowed for light through the window at night and the living room furniture was well worn (I did not see the single bed pull out as indicated in the unit description). I will say again, the location was great. I would just not travel here with a young child as it’s difficult to get up and down the steps with a stroller and a stroller may or may not fit into an elevator.

This is a nice building in a good location for getting around in midtown and exploring the rest of Manhattan. We enjoyed having the living area and the beds were comfortable. There is also a nice sized refrigerator in the living room and a microwave. There is a regular coffee maker, but we walked one block over to Bunny & Bro because they had excellent coffee and it was close. There is a large Whole Foods within walking distance so that was very convenient. The building was very clean and well maintained. There is a nice sized kitchen area in the basement, as well as a laundry room. If you are doing anything in the midtown area, this is a great place to stay and it's also close to grand central station. As some other reviews mentioned, the bathroom mirror does not light up. It really wasn't an issue for me because there is a large mirror with a counter right when you walk in the door. It had good lighting and I was able to keep all my cosmetics on the counter so it all worked out. It's also a convenient place to keep your jackets and your shoes underneath when you first walk in. It's NY so you know that space is at a premium, but we felt that this apartment was bigger than most and perfect for our trip. Overall it was much better than staying in a hotel and definitely more affordable.

The code we were given to access the room didn’t work. The host was quick to respond and gave a new code however, we had to get the gentleman in the lobby to assist as the keypad wouldn’t work at all. He helped and had it fixed in about 20 min.The beds were not comfortable and my teen slept on the sofa and it was awful. It was a different sofa than pictured and had a stain on it.The location was perfect for access to all the things we did. Luckily we were only there for a day/one night and were so busy in the city we weren’t in the property long. Definitely paid for the location and space for a family of four.

We couldn't believe the size of the place. Huge bedrooms with high ceilings. We appreciated the space it allowed each of us. The location could not be better and was really close to the Bryant Park train and so walkable to a ton of things. I appreciated that there were door codes for the building and the apartment so my friend and I weren't having to pass a key back and forth. The building was well kept and the apartment itself was absolutely beautiful. I especially loved the plaque on the door that gave a historical connection to the place. And since we stayed in the July the AC in each room was great. Hope to rebook when we return.

This is a comfortable spot just a few blocks from Times Square--truly an exciting place to stay! The building is beautiful, but it's historical. The elevator is a part of my rating--it seemed extremely dangerous. It would stop at random times, lurch midway through the ride, and stop hard. One of them was down on day 2 of our stay. Otherwise, the location is good. Two other notes: the luggage storage is not secure--just a closet off of the lounge area, and there were no wash cloths in the apartment.

Great location, comfortable stay—but communication could be improved. We really enjoyed the location—quiet neighborhood and within walking distance to so much of what NYC has to offer. The apartment was surprisingly spacious for NYC standards, and the beds were very comfortable, which made for a restful stay. That said, the space is a bit dated, and we were disappointed with the lack of communication from the host, especially during our stay when we had some questions and didn’t receive a response. We had a great weekend away, but given the price, we expected a better overall experience.

The property was perfectly located and the building was very nice. Great area with restaurants, bars, and easy access to everything. First the location and price was amazing. An old building so you expect a few faults. Advertised as sleeps 6 this is totally false. The second bedroom is a king single or small double and at a push sleeps 2. My 15 year old son had that room. My other 15 year old son had to sleep on a tiny pull out sofa couch that was rock hard and so small he could not stretch his legs out. Not a chance you could sleep 2 on it. We booked for 6 but luckily only had a party of 4. Kitchenette is a joke, a table with a microwave and a kettle, not cutlery or crockery and no glasses. That is not a kitchenette. Door handles hanging off and vents pulled away from walls. We had to contact the owner to mention that the shower sink was blocked and they fixed it that day. We reached out about all the broken blinds letting in al the light but got told to cover them ourselves. Check in will only work if you have wifi and can get the code, if not you are stuffed. Check in details should be sent the day prior.

This was a great location for our group, walking distance to Grand Central and Broadway. Great alternative to a hotel room. The elevator and hallways were too narrow for my walker unless it was collapsed, so make note if you use a mobility aid. We struggled with communication. I asked if we could check in an hour early and did not receive a response. We did receive the main building code by check-in, but not the apartment door code. I called and messaged the host and did not get a response. The first person to arrive in our party went to the concierge desk and they told us they could not give us the apartment door code. After proving we tried to contact both the host and Vrbo, they relented and provided the door code. The room was great for what we needed, although there isn’t a mirror with good lighting so if you’re doing hair or makeup, make note. The desk supplied us with extra towels and toilet paper quickly. The couch bed is definitely not for a tall person, but the queen and king were nice. You can hear city noise but the apartment building is very quiet. For check out, we received no instructions, but we found a QR code by the door that allowed us to check out. If you want a group stay, this is a good option, as long as you can go with the flow.

First the good-great location between Grand Central and Time Square. Easy to find good restaurants, shopping and entertainment. Nice size, especially for the area. And if you want to watch tv, there are three massive tv’s. The electric fireplace is cute. But, the building is something between a hostel and a dorm. Most of the occupants and students or twenty somethings looking for a permanent home. The furniture is old and uncomfortable. The only mirror (other than a small, broken makeup mirror by the sink) is in the hall by the front door. Several of the blinds were broken. It lacked a few basic items like Kleenex and wash clothes The kitchenette is a fridge, Mr Coffee, electric kettle and half a roll of paper towels. No coffee or even coffee filters, cups, silverware…There is a communal kitchen in the basement along with coin-op laundry. So, unless you bring your own mug and ground coffee and filler, you won’t be having coffee in your room. The owner responded quickly, but wasn’t proactive about check-in information. Overall, it was a decent size in a good location but underwhelming.
