Lovely, quiet, private, remote, surrounded by wildlife. Great screened porch overlooking the mountaintop—so many birds, wild turkeys in the mornings, deer bedding down just outside the door. Amazing well-kept trails, pond, forest & field walks. This is a cabin, not a house, very intimate but quarters are tight. More than 2 people would be challenging unless you’re a very loving family. Kitchenette, no oven or toaster but enough pots/dishes to cook in. Bed (dbl) was comfy but we were not adventurous nor short enough for the loft. Lovely morning light, so so private, would definitely come again. Host was responsive and gracious. If solitude is what you seek, choose this cabin, but the trade off is a 30-minute trek down the mountain before you even start going to your destination. Pretty close to Sandstone Visitor’s Center at New River Gorge NP. We and our dog loved it!

This was a truly gorgeous place to stay with lots of well-maintained trails to explore. Omar and Julia were extremely accommodating and quick to respond to messages. We can't wait to come back!

House was dirty. Screens on porch were ripped and held together with zip ties. Couch cover was soiled, and so were throw pillows. Water was orange out of the faucets. Owner provided 5 gallon water bottles but they were not sealed and had residue floating in the one we were using. We were booked for a 6 night stay but only provided with one dish rag and one dish towel. Ran out of propane our last day in the gas grill. We had to disarm the smoke detector from the one bedroom because it went off 3 times in the middle of the night. (we did not use the woodstove and we do not smoke). The location was very private and quiet, but we were very disappointed with the lack of cleanliness, especially with the bathroom shower. The cookware needs replaced, the skillets had burned on food left in them. We were able to enjoy our trip because we stayed away during the day sightseeing and hiking. It is a beautiful area. I wish we could have left more positive feedback but this is why we will find a different place to stay the next time.

The cabin was just what my husband & I were looking for. There were no neighbors, no sounds of people or traffic and no city lights. Just the sounds of nature and the light from the moon & stars. We enjoyed walking around the many trails, the pond & the beautiful scenery. One morning we saw a deer feeding her newborn fawn. We enjoyed coffee & breakfast on the screened in deck. There was plenty of room for our dog to run freely. It was a wonderful, relaxing vacation. If you’re looking for a place closer to town or food, this is not the place for you. If you’re looking for peace & quiet away from the hustle & bustle of life, then you will love this place! The road up the mountain to the cabin was narrow & curvy and took about 30 minutes. We personally enjoyed the beautiful drive but others might not. There is a gate to get to the property which we knew nothing about & it required a code to open. We called the host & he quickly gave us the needed information. We truly enjoyed our stay & hated to leave the peace & quiet!

This cabin and its amenities, and its remoteness and beauty have to be experienced. It’s really out in the middle of nowhere, but you will still feel connected if you wish to be. The best way to enjoy this property is to go in expecting to relax, and spend some time there appreciating the beauty of God‘s creation. Just saying. Can’t wait to go back this summer!!

My husband and I absolutely loved staying here and will definitely be back. The cabin was cozy, clean, and comfortable. It sits on hundreds of unoccupied acres of fields and forests, with some walking trails winding throughout. We had a great time exploring the land and having a peaceful weekend away from the busyness of our lives.

I flew my girlfriend in from Honduras. She enjoyed the snow. First time she got to see it. This cabin really is private. I asked her to marry me there. SHE SAID YES. I will be going back there again. If you want to relax. THIS IS THE PLACE. We loved it. Plenty of wildlife to see.

I can't say enough great things about this cabin and the property!!! Gods Country We were able to really detach from reality and relax. We enjoyed relaxing around the campfire, reading and hiking through the woods. We counted 40 deer in our short stay! Would definitely stay again!!

We spent a week in the New River Gorge National Park area. The cabin on the mountain was the perfect spot for us to stay. It was cozy, clean, quaintly furnished, and full of all the comforts of home. I highly recommend it.

Our hosts were excellent, the cabin and property surrounding it spectacular! Truth in advertisement. My wife, me and our dog, Glovis, loved our stay. We were told we would be alone on top of a mountain, and we were!
