Dining options on the farm range from picnics in the woods to romantic, candle lit meals on the dock or screened porch with views of the pond and the Blue Ridge.
In addition to a modern kitchen, our 1860's farmhouse features high speed Internet and new baths with whirlpool tub, pedestal sink, washer/dryer, and tiled floors and shower. Stone fireplaces and a wood stove add ambiance and warm you in winter, and ceiling fans in every room make the central air conditioning necessary only in the hottest days of summer. Lovely 19th Century wood floors grace the house throughout and historic, winding wood staircases lead to cozy but roomy bedrooms upstairs. Please note: The historic staircases uneven, narrow, steep, and open at top and bottom. They must be navigated with care and are unsuitable for small children and individuals with limited mobility or who need bedroom and bath all on one level.
The Farmhouse has 2 full suites, each with large eat-in kitchen, living area, screened porch, one large bedroom, and bath. The Pond View suite has a queen and twin bed, whirlpool tub and shower, and fireplaces up and downstairs, whereas the Mountain View side has a queen and double bed, large tiled shower, and wood stove downstairs.
The Farmhouse is perfect for a family and for sharing with friends. An adjoining door between the two living areas may be left open or closed for privacy. If you need additional space, see our Barn Loft #457779 and Historic Poorhouse #1674570.
Our 2 bedroom Barn Loft (VRBO #457779) has spectacular views of the Blue Ridge from every room. Entirely modern with glass front wood stove, slate and wood flooring, soapstone counters, and stainless appliances, this is a most special addition to our farm about an eighth of a mile from the farmhouse. The entirely renovated, Historic Poorhouse features a vaulted ceiling great room with kitchenette, stone fireplaces, a large bedroom on the first floor and a loft bedroom up steep stairs, plus one bath. While private, it is a short minute walk from the farmhouse.
Finally, if you would like to fully experience rural life, you are welcome to help us with the many projects that farm living offers, from gardening and caring for the animals to projects around our restored 1860s log barn. We will make every effort to customize your stay so that your experience is memorable! Friendly, well mannered pets that will not harm our farm animals are welcome. We are a non-smoking property.

We had the perfect getaway. The farm weekend with animals, garden and pond.
Thanks to our hosts for a wonderful relaxing family 3 generational vacation on a glorious working farm in the mtns of virginia.all the kids from 4 to 64 enjoyed feeding the animals, fishing in pond ,boating in pond, falling in pond.we all enjoyed slowing down, grilling ,eating smores, reading books, doing puzzles, talking in the shade of the glorious old trees listening to the birdsong and watching the rabbits gambol by.we lived in the moment ,made wonderful family memories, thanks to our hosts. Also visited caverns, kids museums and hiked.
The farm was a wonderful spot for our family. The area is exceptionally beautiful, especially the farm, with its views of the Blue Ridge mountains, and its own rolling hills, bluebirds, farm animals, frogs, foxes etc. The animals were endlessly entertaining for my kids, and Andrea was very kind and welcoming, introducing us to the goats, chickens, mules, etc. The local sights were fun and interesting for us, including the Luray Caverns, and the local corner store and restaurants were great. The house is nice and functional, but there were some harmless bugs in the house that my kids were worried about. This is typical for a country house, but I thought I should mention it.
We hiked during the day, and then relaxed by the fire pit at night. We also enjoyed feeding the horses and goats apples from the nearby farm stand.
This restored farmhouse is in remarkable shape for its age. We enjoyed the extended weekend escape. Easy access to Skyline Drive for a day hike, then Sperryville / Washington for some culinary indulgence. The property is plenty big enough for a 2-hour hike / walk about and exploring.
Beautiful, serene, well maintained place.
Beautiful setting Recommend
My family and I had an amazing vacation at this property. We had a blast feeding the animals, swimming in the lake, and watching the stars at our evening campfires. We felt like we had the whole property to ourselves yet the location was so close to so many great activities. The property managers were awesome and willing to help us with anything. We can not wait to come back to this property! Thank you for an amazing experience!
This was our second time visiting the property. Our youngest son (11) loved it so much so he chose to come back this year with four of his friends. They had a blast fishing, swimming and enjoying the beautiful space. Thank you for your hospitality.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Farmhouse. Andrea and Steve were the best hosts. We loved the cozy house to play games and eat. The outdoor fire pit was stocked and easy to light. We enjoyed the peace and quiet and especially getting to know the rhythm of life on the farm.
