Very good. We enjoyed the Art House and surroundings a lot.
We enjoyed our stay! House is very nice! Love the wild flowers and nature outside. The beds were very comfortable. Can you please share with us what brand of mattresses you use and where you purchased them along with you bed linens? Thank you for sharing your beautiful home!!
We had a wonderful nice short little getaway here! It was a very relaxing 2 days! Loved all the natural light from all the windows! Also, a very well equipped kitchen for cooking. Sadly, it rained the entire time, but we very much enjoyed the gas firepit under the covered porch and the hottub as well under a covered porch. We were able to bring our 2 dogs, which was wonderful as well. They enjoyed the time as much as we did! Thank you both for being very accommodating!
Scott and Suzie were great. We had some trouble getting in; but, they were very helpful and quick to respond. We look forward to another stay our next time in Asheville!
This place has the best natural light and very nice deck. The host is very responsive and accommodating. This is the place to come if you want to be close to nature for peace and quiet.
It was an unusually cold winter and the pipes froze. Scott left his vacation early to come help us. Even though it was tough circumstances, he worked hard to make it work as best as possible!! We’ll definitely come back but in the summer, ha!
Our stay here was very relaxing and the setting was beautiful! This is a great location, close to both Asheville, Lake Lure, and the Blue Ridge parkway. We decided to stay in just because we enjoyed hanging out on the covered deck with the gas fire pit and the kids dunking in the hot tub. The house was well supplied, clean and the bedding was comfortable. The hosts were amazing, even bringing us some additional fire wood for an evening spent out at the wood fire pit located by the pond. We would recommend this place for families and large groups, it was a great value for us. Thanks Scott and Suzie, we will definitely see you next year!
I so loved my stay at the Mountain Art House! I needed a break from the stresses of life and I found it! And close enough to the restaurants, galleries, etc., of Asheville to easily enjoy, but out of the way enough to feel like I had my own nature refuge in the mountains! The house was beautifully appointed with everything I might need. It was a joy to stay here! This is my second time here, and can't wait to return again!
Overall, my family and I enjoyed our stay, although there were a few bumps along the way. The email that was sent the day we arrived provided great communication from the start and the check in process was very easy. When we arrived I was surprised that the house was not as remote as advertised, situated in almost more of a shared land arrangement (close to the neighbors house and owners house too). I was also surprised at the extra $75 per guest/ per night (4+ people), since the house advertises to sleep 10, so know that the rental rate is not fixed. In my opinion, this info should be more clear on the listing to be fully transparent about all extra fees before booking. I also found the house was not “fully” cleaned before check in (old food in the refrigerator and unmade beds, though the sheets were clean and folded in the closets). The hot tub was also not properly maintained between guests, as the water level was very low and the chemicals caused an allergic reaction with my son’s skin. I did notify the owner and he responded with urgency to apologize and fix the hot tub. The owner is very kind and communicates very well with guests. Overall, the house is very nice and relaxing and still offers a quiet getaway.
Picturesque, warm and inviting. My girlfriends and I had a wonderfully relaxing time here!
Has a great stay. Enjoyed the property and are greatly. The jacuzzi and porch fire pit were amazing
Scott’s home was amazing. The location was so peaceful and beautiful. The house has everything we needed, and we all loved the deck as well as the wood fire pit located at the front of the house. The swimming hole was a special touch, but wish we had stayed during a warmer season so that we could have enjoyed it. The home was comfortable and each bedroom was peaceful and comfortable with space for everyone in our group of six.
On the day we were suppose to go up there, We got a text at 5:30 am telling us we owed more money On the pet deposit and once paid , we would get codes to the property. Okay.. we told them we would be arriving at 7 pm. About 5:30 pm most of the way there; we got a text telling us the previous night there was a storm knocking out internet. That was 12 hours after texting us about extra dog fees. Had we known we could have downloaded content to our laptops. The internet was out 3 of the 5 days we were there. Luckily they had dvds of game of thrones so we watched a few episodes. … then we found out that some wild animal had dug and chewed up the lines. Cable guy was quite disturbed. He said he never saw anything like it. I then told the owners there was a dead mouse smell and could he come look. He looked in the laundry room.He didn’t find it there so he told us to just keep windows open. Yuck. It stunk pretty bad. By the end of our trip , it was really bad. The spring fed pool , I never even saw because the over growth was too tall and upon our arrival was a 4 foot snake in the drive way. I was afraid to walk down in the tall grass. There were no signs on any type of vegetables in the green house. Ever. And do bring towels. There were three of us. There were 3 towels. I don’t know about you but 1 towel each for 5 days was stretching it and not enough for a load to wash. I am not picky, I’m quite easy to please but I couldn’t wait to leave this place. And it is a shame. Because it was lovely inside. But needed upkeep outside. Over grown and most outdoor amenities were misrepresented. I’m sorry but thumbs way down
We loved being in the house as well as venturing out! Perfect location and great amenities! The house was clean and well appointed and Scott was great!
Property is so beautiful and quiet. House was very clean and plenty of space to spread out. Hot tub was enjoyed by some. The back deck is amazing and all the hummingbirds..so fun to watch. About 30 minutes to Asheville. The roads are, of course VERY winding and the house is VERY much “off the beaten path”. They have lights to guide you to the house once you are on the dirt road. And the house was lit up..so easy to see. Thanks for sharing your beautiful home with us. Was a great place to regroup and enjoy my family.
Great spot for us to gather for a few days respite
Ten family members and two dogs came to Asheville to celebrate a bridal shower. We rented this lovely home and were very happy! Excellent attention to detail, plenty of space and beautiful surroundings!
Even better than the photos! Beautiful, clean, quiet and calm. Great communication with host. Can’t wait to go back!
We were looking to escape the city, and boy did we. This gorgeous property greets you with wildflowers and grapevines as you drive up. The almost all glass entryway - is stunning and provides a beautiful view of the property. The house was outfitted with everything we could have needed. The beds (so many kings!) were so comfortable. We were so close to Asheville, hiking, and swimming, but we mostly looked forward to cheese and wine on the deck listening to the rain on the overhang most evenings. The owners were very communicative and responsive to our needs and questions. Would highly recommend.
