Pretty views and traditional country farmhouse that is private but still very close to skiing, MountainTop Inn and all the conveniences of downtown Rutland. Spacious rooms and the host is a lovely and very helpful person. Only critiques would be that the master bathroom shower could use an upgrade and the tv-watching couch could be larger. Overall very lovely property!
Susan was an extremely helpful host and even set up a port-a-crib and had gates secured for my two young grandchildren. My son was getting married only a few miles away from her home and it was so convenient. The home was charming and I highly recommend this accommodation! Thank you for everything, Susan. Sincerely, Lisa
A most enjoyable stay at this charming 200 year old farmhouse.
It was a beautiful farmhouse with plenty of charm and space. Everything we needed! Very easy ride to Mountain Top Resort for the wedding we attended.
Loved staying here, communication was great. House was wonderful. Warm linens and comfy towels. Thanks again!
We stayed during MLK weekend to ski at Killington. The house was perfect for our small group of two families. The kids enjoyed the board games, and we spent a lot of time sitting around the fireplace to relax after our ski sessions. The house was very cozy and Susan was great in providing instructions. Thankfully we didn’t need to contact her for any needs during our stay because everything was set up perfectly. We will definitely look to book this house again when we plan our next visit to Killington.
My family stayed the long weekend and had a blast enjoying the beautiful property! Amazing views!
We were a little early for peak leaf viewing, but t's hard to time. Got better while we were there. The night sky from the back yard was awesome. As was the view of the valley from the deck. Close to Rutland and restaurants. About 2 hours from Stowe, shorter to Waterbury (Benn and Jerry's). Overall a great trip.
Our family loved the charm of the old farmhouse. Beautiful views sitting on the open side deck. Perfect location to stay when attending a wedding at the Mountain Top Inn & Resort!
We had such an incredible time at Susan's home. The home was beautiful and the idyllic surrounding countryside made us feel at ease. There was so much to do in the area and most of our days there were spent hiking and swimming in nearby gorges. Additionally, Susan provided us with just about everything we needed for our stay. She was attentive and responsive whenever I needed to be in touch with her. She gave us great advice on what to do in the area. She is a brilliant host and I absolutely would consider Vrbo'ing with this house on my next visit to Vermont. Thank you Susan so much!
Property as described. Great stay
We loved the peaceful, beautiful setting of this bib. The views and hiking possibilities are endless. The host was very accommodating and there to answer any questions. Our favorite thing was to sit out on the back porch- so peaceful! Beds were comfortable and everything was there that we needed.
The farmhouse has spacious airy rooms with just the right numbers of books, dishes, and furniture to make it feel homey without feeling cluttered. The lawns, hedgerows, and meadows surrounding the house were full of sunshine and birdsong when we stayed. The mountain views from the sunset-facing porch were lovely. The house is clean and cozy but because it is 200 years old it has some signs of wear that give it character but might not be to everyone’s taste.
