The property is uniquely situated 40 minutes between both main gates of Yosemite National Forest. Access to the property is conveniently off State Highway 49. While you will be surrounded by forest and abundant wildlife, you will enjoy the access and safety of being nestled 20 minutes between the charming mountain-towns of both Mariposa and Oakhurst, with convince stores, post office, gas stations and schools on the way and much closer.
If you love animals, this will be an ideal location. Hurds of goats and sheep roam the property to maintain the brush. Many friendly cats roam the property to effectively prevent rodents and other pests. The property also has adorable kune-kune pigs that tend to the soil and several guard-dogs that do an amazing job deterring undesirable predators. The animals will be a feature of your stay, not a responsibility. They will stay out of your space; to be enjoyed. There is also an abundance of fresh farm eggs offered as a gift.
But if we were looking to stay somewhere, the primary reason to visit this property would be the land. Majestic views, endless hiking, two ponds, wildlife, lovely weather and sunsets continue to surprise and exceed expectations.

This is not a short-term vacation rental. We are seeking a visitor that intends to stay at least 31 days. While the space offers and abundance of charm, it’s important to understand that this is still an rural and rugged place, and will require a bit of grit and flexibility on the part of any visitor.
The house is an amazing antique that has withstood over 120 years. The cedar wood floors have recently been refinished; it has a new roof and front deck, a remodeled kitchen and bathroom, and many other charming features. It has traditionally tall ceilings and lovely floor plan. Also enjoy 5 natural springs, blackberries, and the old-growth fruit trees that grow around the property.

The house was larger than we expected. 2 bedrooms, large living room, and big kitchen. The two AC units keep it pretty cool in temps 80 degrees or lower. It get’s a little toasty inside above that. There wasn’t any check in information but Jason helped us get into the house. The road to the house is dirt and riddled with potholes. That being said our 2WD Ford Fusion got up it. If you’re looking for a stay with lots of space this is it. The house is very old but has been updated in the places where it’s important.
