Our second visit and out third is already reserved for 2024. Yes, Napa Valley is know worldwide for wine and fine food and that is what originally drew us there. We were not disappointed, delighted in fact, with all that. But what has brought us back again and again is what we discovered once we spent time here—peace, quiet, pure contentment. This little house’s heart belongs to Larry and Gail for sure, but seems to know just how important it is to us to feel like it is OUR house for the length of our stay, like it knows us and is so glad it’s April and it’s friends have arrived. We’d come back again and again if the only food and drink available was bread and water. We are truly happy there.
Excellent communication with property owners, wonderful location, well appointed, comfortable, charming!
Great backyard, bbq, bocce court, sitting and dining areas. Lovely French country theme. We will return.
Great house. Perfect location. Wonderful hosts.
That just about sums it up. Go out the front door early in the morning and turn left to get the best French bread outside of Paris, baked within the hour; turn right and within two minutes you are walking a country lane through the vineyards with barely a building in sight. I kid you not — two minutes! The house and grounds are charming and homey and the fireplace is lovely on the evenings when it cools down (we’re talking April here). Delightful little kitchen with original cabinetry, butler’s pantry with all things coffee and wine, front porch with sassy squirrel to greet the day and watch the world jog/cycle by, and a very private backyard pergola with party lights and a great grill. Be sure to make reservations early at the amazing restaurants within a ten minute walk, although we found that we could often be seated without in mid-afternoon. Don’t count on April 2023 because it’s taken already.
The photos and description fit the property perfectly. The outdoor areas are amazing. The peaceful comfortable sitting area next to the gorgeous and practical garden (we cooked a fresh tomato sauce with ALL the homegrown ones in the garden!), dining table under the stars and fun bocce court were awesome, not to mention the picturesque rocking chairs on the front patio. The living room was lovely with inviting, spacious, comfortable furniture, a perfect TV, and a fun speaker system. The upstairs was great. When traveling away from home, it is so important to have a super comfortable plush bed. The two king beds with wonderful linens and attractive pillows/bedspreadhs did not disappoint and made it a luxury to sleep away from home for a whole month! Gail and Larry were very welcoming, offering great tips before the trip and being proactive, communicative, down to earth, and pleasant. Throughout the trip, they were quick to respond to any minor questions or needs for help. We stayed during COVID and the wildfires, but still managed to have a blast despite the tumultuous times in the world. We got lots of take-out from some of the BEST restaurants in the world, splurged on some dining out that was responsibly distanced, enjoyed outdoor winetasting, and having cooking adventures at the lovely home. It was very perfect for our family of 4, including a 1 and 3 year old. We can't wait to return!
Couldn’t have enjoyed it more.
The house was wonderful, the location was perfect, walking distance to shops and restaurants .The owners Gail and Larry were great to deal with, friendly and helpful. When we do Napa again will defiantly try to stay here again.
