BEAUTIFUL PROVENCAL FARMHOUSE, AIR-CONDITIONED, WITH LARGE, SECURE SWIMMING POOL. IN THE COUNTRYSIDE.

We had a lovely week’s stay at this farmhouse property. The hosts were very helpful and welcomed us warmly. The house was well equipped and felt very clean. The garden was superb- spacious and full a multitude of plants and creatures for children’s bug hunts. The pool area was excellent and there was also ping pong and babyfoot for the children. My favourite part of the property was the shady outside eating area and outside kitchen/bbq. We would return again!

As with any rental the first impression comes from the communication with the owners and ease of booking and with this rental it was first class. I exchanged a number of emails with Catherine and the response was always quick and thorough. On arriving at the house we received a very warm greeting from Catherine and Alain who showed us around their large and lovely home and thoroughly explained everything from how the cooker works to when the bins needed putting out. Their lovely young son accompanied us and his constant smile was probably amusement at our efforts to communicate in French and English. The swimming pool area is set a short distance from the house down some steps and the large pool is surrounded by beautiful plants and lavender. There are plenty of sun loungers and the hose next to the pool acted as a make do shower because the water in the pipes was heated by the direct sunshine. The grounds which are very well presented and looked after are large enough to afford the opportunity for just strolling around the garden in the beautiful Provençal sun and taking in the views of Mont Ventoux. The terrace allows for relaxing in the shade during the day and eating outside at night. We made full use of the built in BBQ. Catering for families with children the owners have included a small park area in the garden with swing and slide and of course the table tennis and use of bicycles. The house was lovely and very spacious and generally quite cool but in the very hot weather the bedrooms were too warm. I would recommend that the owners provide a fan for each bedroom as we had to purchase our own but this is personal choice and not a criticism. All of the bedrooms were spacious with sufficient wardrobe space and bedding. The ground floor bedroom located off the utility room has access to the terrace and has an en-suite. The house has a very rural feel but is actually less than 1km from Carpentras, a view of which can be seen from the garden terrace. There are two supermarkets (Intermarche and Super U) and all the commerce expected within a city within a couple of minutes drive or a bike ride from the house and a further Intermarche Super at Sarrians a 5 min drive away. The house is ideally located to explore the Region and is large enough to accommodate two families comfortably and in complete privacy. I would like to compliment the gentleman who maintains the pool on a Saturday as he came and went almost without being noticed. Strongly recommended**
