HAFOD Y LLYN COTTAGE is a very special hill top cottage tucked away amongst 30 acres of privately owned mountain woodland. There is a verandah with table and chairs to enjoy the views of the Rhinog and Manod mountain ranges and wonderful walks from the front door - in all seasons. A swimming lake and request stop on the Ffestiniog railway are all a short walk away. ACCESS: We are situated 3/4 mile from the main road along a track which is rough, narrow and steep in places. (Not suitable for unconfident drivers - see below).brbrHafod y Llyn cottage is a very loved artist's home which is full of character. It has been the home of Noelle and Richard for over thirty years, and has lovely old furniture and rugs as well as paintings by Noelle. The cottage overlooks the Vale of Ffestiniog, one of the most beautiful and best preserved wooded valleys in Britain. It is an excellent area for walking, bird watching, mountain bike riding and swimming. A swimming lake and Plas Halt request stop of the Ffestiniog Railway are both within easy walking distance.brbrDOG OWNERS: we welcome one dog at Hafod y Llyn cottage - please bring bedding, towels and make sure your dog does not go on any furniture. IMPORTANT: Your dog must not be left in the cottage unattended. brbrHAFOD Y LLYN COTTAGE is a cosy place to relax and enjoy nature. There are books to read and CD's of music to listen to. Also a TV with a selection of DVD's and videos to watch. The cottage has been renovated and furnished in a tasteful and simple style, the living room has two sofas, two chairs and lovely old furniture. A WOOD BURNING STOVE heats the living area and two radiators. A limited supply of firewood is provided. brThe LIVING ROOM and two double bedrooms have panoramic views of woodland and mountains. The third bedroom with two single beds looks on to a small courtyard. brBed linen can be supplied at extra cost. We do not provide towels. brACCESS: the cottage is 3/4 mile from the road along a track which is in places steep, narrow and rough. It is passable to all cars (except low slung sports models) and not suitable for unconfident drivers. The railway crossing limits width/length of vehicles to standard transit van measurements. PLEASE CONTACT us if you drive a camper van as it might be too wide or long for the crossing.brbrWOODLAND PASTURE scheme with a few of cows grazing our 30 acres of land is starting in 2020. The hope is to create a more diverse habitat for wildlife at Hafod. You may meet cows on the track. The cottage and parking area is fenced to keep cows out - please keep the gates closed.
