Curveirinha | Country House| Jacuzzi | National Park Peneda-Gerês

Castro Laboreiro, Porto e Norte, Portugal

Description:brCurveirinha promises to enchant you as soon as you take your first steps inside! brbrHere, the stones tell stories that go back to the days of our grandparents, when life went at a calmer pace, afternoons were long and quiet in harmony with the cycles of nature... without rushing. brbrThe rusticity present reveals the marks of an era that no longer exists, but which still echoes in the hearts of the elderly and in the carefully placed objects that reflect the essence of those who wanted to preserve the authenticity of the place and its people! brbrCasa da Curveirinha immediately takes us back to the place where it is located - the 'inverneira da Curveira', part of the former Vila de Castro Laboreiro, where culture and traditions are still very much present in every corner. brbrThe stones inside have stood the test of time as the guardians of memories and stories passed down from generation to generation, contrasting with the warmth of the fireplace that invites you to long afternoons of (traditional) games and conversations, telling childhood secrets where ‘in the past it was...’ leads you to imagine scenarios that some people don't know about. brbrThe interior is marked by the smell of wood, characteristic of the furniture chosen to offer you comfort and cosiness! It has 2 suites, 1 bedroom with a double bed, 1 bedroom with 2 single beds, an office area, a reading room with a wood burning stove, a living room with a wood burning stove and a dining area and kitchen. brbrThe kitchen reminds us of the times when it was the centre of family life and invites you to cook. It's fully equipped, from the most modern equipment to the wood-burning cooker, where we all know cooking has a different flavour! brbrFrom the inside out, let yourself be lulled into silence, interrupted only by the sounds of nature: birdsong, the rustling of trees, the sound of the stream that's just a few steps away. brbrJust like the interior, the exterior will make you remember the moments you spent here! The barbecue offers moments of conviviality that culminate in lunch or dinner at the outdoor table. Naps can be taken on the sun loungers that beckon you to lean back, but if you prefer the sound of the stream, fill up the picnic basket that you'll find inside the house and take it with you to the private leisure area that stretches down to the river and... let yourself stay! brbrIf you're adventurous, follow the trail that takes you to the famous ‘Bico do Patelo’ and, at the end of the day, relax in the jacuzzi overlooking the mountains that embrace you and whisper ‘Be Happy! brbrCurveirinha exudes cosiness and resilience, like a reflection of the strength and spirit of an era that, although distant, lives on in the memories of those lucky enough to have known it. brbrBe enchanted by our history and make it your own by rewriting it! brbrWelcome! brbr brbr brVideo:

Casa dos Côtos | Peneda-Gêres National Park | Castro Laboreiro

Castro Laboreiro, Porto e Norte, Portugal

Description:brCasa dos Côtos is an old single-family building, acquired by its current owner in a state of almost complete ruin and restored by him in respect for the original design, having been licensed for tourism in rural areas in 2018. brbrThe materials and elements that make it up are those of the region, such as granite and wood. brbrThe denomination found to make it known had its genesis in the fact that it is based, in all its limits, on an agglomerate or rocky mass, which the locals call 'côtos'. brbrThe building extends over a ground floor or basement (where a small local grocery store once operated, a space limited by the surrounding rock, thinned by several metres to make it possible to form the current area, kitchen, living / dining room and service toilet), the top floor, integrating three bedrooms, all with private bathrooms, and the attic, intended for games and leisure space. brbrIt has openings that allow you to enjoy the surrounding idyllic landscapes, towards its four winds. brbrIt is located in the village and parish of Castro Laboreiro (which was a village and county seat between 1134 and 1855), in the municipality of Melgaço, on the northeast slope of the Serra da Peneda and on the west slope of the Serra de Laboreiro, in territory that borders neighbouring Galicia, Spain. brbrSituated in the picturesque setting of Branda de Castro Laboreiro, the building is a witness to the past and present of this charming region, in perfect harmony and framing with the majestic mountains of the Peneda-Gerês National Park. brbrLocated next to the Castro Laboreiro Museum, and a few metres from the library and the tourist information office, this house is a cosy refuge that combines history and contemporary comfort. brbrThe traces of the local architecture are preserved, maintaining the authenticity and the connection with the rich cultural heritage of the region. brbrUpon entering this restored stone house, one discovers a charming interior that combines the charm of the past with modern amenities. The spaces have been carefully designed, with a decor that enhances the rustic and cosy style. Solid wood furniture, wrought iron details and natural materials create a cosy atmosphere, inviting guests to relax and enjoy moments of tranquillity. brbrThe house offers a variety of amenities to ensure maximum comfort for visitors. The fully-equipped kitchen allows guests to prepare delicious meals, choosing to consume local products found nearby (such as the famous Castro Laboreiro ham, sausages, cornbread and honey). The living room invites you to socialise in front of the fireplace, perfect for colder days. The privileged location of this restored stone house is also an invitation to explore the surroundings. The Núcleo Museológico de Castro Laboreiro, located a few metres away, offers a dive into the history and culture of the region, providing a deeper understanding of its past. The nearby library and tourist information centre are valuable resources for visitors wishing to discover the natural and cultural wonders that surround this place in the heart of the Peneda-Gerês National Park. Just a few hundred metres away is the Rio Laboreiro, a course of clear, crystalline waters and waterfalls of unmistakable beauty, as well as a Roman bridge and the Castle of Castro Laboreiro. brbrWhether for a romantic getaway, a family trip or a solo adventure, this house is the perfect place to reconnect and explore the much that the region has to offer. Combining the charm of the past with contemporary comfort, the space provides an authentic and unique experience. brbrCastro Laboreiro is a magical place, one of the 'Villages of Portugal', and by staying in this space you have the opportunity to experience its unique spirit, in the context of imposing and breathtaking landscapes of the surroundings, which will certainly be registered in your memory. brbrWelcome to Casa dos Côtos!brVideo:
