Blue Magnolia offers privacy, comfort and space in a unique location in central Hobart. brbrThe front courtyard features a stunning stone wall and contemplation bench. Entering through the new front door leads to the well designed, high spec kitchen, great for those who love cooking. The expansive glass sliding doors opens on to an outdoor decking perfect for alfresco dining. The living spaces located within the stone walls of the old cottage have been modernized and meticulously appointed and furnished. brEnjoy a good book by the gas fire place in the cozy reading nook or hang out, relax and watch a movie in the living room.brThe luxurious light filled sleeping space is reached by a wide staircase dramatically illuminated by a glass ceiling. The glass ceiling is repeated in the en suite revealing an ever changing skyscape which can be enjoyed as you soak is the deep luxurious bath.brbrBlue Magnolia is fully self-contained and private, accommodates two people and is for guests to fully enjoy. Breakfast goodies and some staples are provided to get you started. There are two outdoor areas; the front courtyard and the back deck, which receives the morning sun and is a perfect place for alfresco dining.brbrThere is an easy to use Miele washer/ dryer laundry. Hairdryer, iron and ironing board are upstairs. Everything will be set up and provided before your arrival and we endeavor to make your stay special. One of the most enjoyable ways to experience the beauty of Hobart is take a cruise. Boats leave from Watermans Dock in the city. Hobart is host to many superb and exciting festivals including: Dark MoFo, Mona Foma, The Summer Festival, The Festival of Voices, The Wooden Boat Festival, The Tasmanian Arts Festival, The Taste Festival, The Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race. Whether it’s Spring, Summer, Autumn or Winter there is always something on in Hobart to enrich the senses and inspire the soul.brbrBlue Magnolia is located within walking distance of the city, but the easiest and most convenient way to see the many attractions that Hobart offers is by car. Alternatively, cabs are easily accessible and affordable and UBER has recently entered the market in Hobart as well. Hobart also has a public transport bus system.

Complete with a car park, your stay in Hobart could not be more comfortable or convenient.brbrThe Space:brComfort and convenience are top of the list at this inner-city apartment which is so close to everything and yet quietly tucked away at the end of Collins Street. Located in an apartment complex, the property is professionally cleaned and cared for. brbrThe apartment has two large bedrooms, each furnished with a queen bed. The master bedroom has access to a walk in robe and ensuite. Both bedrooms are light and sunny with floor to ceiling windows and direct access to the outdoor deck. brbrThe kitchen/living/dining area is all open-plan and you may choose to eat at the dining table or more casually on the bar stools at the kitchen. The Mill Race is a colonial 3 story building, brought back to life from derelict condition. The apartment offers a contemporary living space enhanced by a bespoke fit out.brOur approach has been to conserve rather than restore, to capture a balance between ‘old and new’. This apartment is for those who appreciate essential updates whilst still able to reflect on the exposed layers of the building’s history.brThe c1870 building fronts onto Macquarie street, a MAIN ARTERIAL ROAD into Hobart. Therefore the traffic noise can be a bother to some people. The building itself is over three levels with the Stayz apartment situated on the top floor. The private entrance to the apartment is at street level. next to a makers studio and shop. There is also a living space used by the host below street level that opens into a courtyard which it shares with a cottage c1830. brThe apartment on the top floor offers a warm generous sized queen bedroom with a luxuriously mattress fitted with high quality bed linen and a spacious contemporary bespoke en-suite (walk in shower) At the rear of the building is the quiet kitchen/ living room. This room is especially peaceful and relaxing as it becomes imbued with afternoon light. Even cloudy days make the couch a favourite reading spot, especially when the French doors are opened to the magnificent view over the Hobart rivulet and up to mountain Kunanyi. Please note that for practical and safety reasons, the indoor fireplaces have been blocked off and are not to be used by guests, as is the attic which is still being restored and the staircase is especially steep for some.brThe building is located with an easy walk to the city, Salamanca and the ferry to MONA. The apartment is also a great starting point for a walk up the Mtn. brThe door to the apartment is fitted with a keypad for easy and independent access. The host works from the studio/shop downstairs and lives in the basement apartment while in town. The host is also restoring the c1830's cottage behind the main building, so is am nearby if you need anything.br Otherwise, your stay is as private and independent as you wish.brJust a note on the two heaters, a master switch is located on the skirting board below and an on/off switch is positioned on the left side of each heater. A thermostat adjustment is on the top. The kitchen heater thermostat is a little tricky to access as I had to deflect some of the heat away from the window frame.brAlso to note is the street parking which has recently changed, there is now a clear way from 6.30am to 9.30 am in the morning and 3 pm until 5.30pm in the afternoon.
