The original Spa Pavilion has been magnificently restored after a period of disuse and now serves as a venue for a variety of events, including concerts, dances, dramas and exhibitions. The former Victorian railway station, which in times past brought many visitors from near and far, has now been beautifully restored to house craft workers and their shops, and is also home to the Highland Museum of Childhood. Visit the restored Pump house (also a Tourist Information point), take a walk along a forest track, or enjoy the views from the nearby pictish hill fort at Knockfarrel. Whatever you decide there's plenty on offer for all the family.

Fly fishing can be enjoyed on the doorstep, and walking routes and cycle paths can be found within easy reach, whilst for a wonderful day trip, Inverness, Loch Ness or even the Isle of Skye can be easily found from this charming cottage. Just a few minutes walk from the centre of this beautiful spa village, Peffer Lodge makes an ideal base for exploring the many activities and attractions of this scenic part of the Highlands. brMountain biking on the local forest trails, walking and climbing, water sports, fishing and golf with a challenging 18-hole course in the village are just some of the wide variety of activities. There is also an equestrian centre about 7 miles away where you can enjoy horse riding. For the less energetic, take a stroll along one of the many beaches of the Moray Firth where you may catch a glimpse of the resident dolphins or meander around some the many picturesque fishing villages. Culloden Battlefield, Loch Ness and the Highland capital of Inverness are all less than an hour’s drive. Further afield, take a trip west to the Isle of Skye, Eilan Donan Castle and NTS Inverewe Gardens or north to the stunning land and seascapes of Sutherland and Caithness – often known as Europe’s last great wilderness. Shop, pub and restaurant 0.25 miles.brAvailable all year: changeover day is normally Saturday, but the owners can be flexible. A short walk takes you to Loch Achilty (free fishing) or if you climb the hill the Tor (a Marilyn) has stunning views up Strathconon and over Ben Wyvis. brbrbrWe are also within a short distance of the scenic Rogie Falls with its famous Salmon Leap and are on the world class 'North Coast 500' and yet within easy distance of monster-spotting on Loch Ness. brbrJuniper Hill has easy access to both Dingwall (Macbeth's birthplace) and Inverness (for Cinema and Theatre). The Cromarty Firth is impressive with frequent sightings of Seals and Dolphins. Nearby Beauly is an interesting place to visit with it's ancient Priory, Lovat family, history links to 'Outlander' (TV series) but also home to the 'Commando Initiative'. Beauly hosts the 'Highland Cross Biathlon' from Eilean Donan castle, the 'Black Isle show' and 'Belladrum music festival'.brbrMax of two well behaved dogs are welcome, but not on furniture and there is a stair gate so that no dogs are allowed upstairs.
