If you’re looking for charming upscale accommodations in a peaceful tropical setting, our place is for you. Our 2BR/2BA house is right on the water on a 2-acre property in a quiet neighborhood with a backdrop of lush mountains surrounded by fruit trees. You’ll enjoy your own private beach area with clear turquoise waters and beautiful snorkeling for all levels right in front of the house. You can tour the lagoon in our kayaks, enjoy sunset or a meal from the table in the garden, sunbathe or stargaze from the lounge chairs, or have an evening fire in the fire pit. brbrLocation: We’re located on the west coast, in the district of Fitii, about a 10 minute drive from the airport, and 6 minutes to the town of Fare where you can find the big supermarket and restaurants. So we’re close to town but once you’re here it feels like your own remote paradise. There is a bakery just 1 minute up the road to get fresh bread and pastries in the morning. brbrHouse: The home is beautiful--built with imported hardwoods and recently refurbished. The big deck area at the front of the house is where you’ll end up spending a lot of time, with it’s magnificent views of the ocean and mountains and sweet ocean breezes. There is also a beautiful dining table to enjoy meals at home, as well as couches on the deck for napping or relaxing in the afternoon breeze. brbrIn the middle of the house is the spacious living room and kitchen area, separating the two bedrooms, making them feel private, so it’s ideal for 2 couples or a family. brbrThe primary bedroom has a king sized bed and beautiful bay window, with a small desk for working remotely if needed. There is a large walk-in closet and the bathroom has a spacious two-person bathtub / shower.brbrThe second bedroom is lovely, too, with a queen-sized bed and it’s own deck access, plus it's own bathroom with a shower and washing machine. brbrThe kitchen is spacious and well-equipped for cooking. We are eco-conscious and run a local non profit for the environment and animals, so we provide you with drinking water, eco-friendly soaps, and receptacles for recycling and composting. brbrThere is a cat that lives at the house. Her name is Jolie and she will be excited to meet you. If you are highly allergic to cats, this may not be the place for you. She stays outside but she is often in the deck area. brbrCar: It is necessary to have a car during your stay with us. Because of our steep driveway, you need a 4-wheel drive vehicle to access the house. We offer the use of a Subaru XV, which is 4-wheel drive and has an automatic transmission to get you safely up and down our road. We will meet you at the airport/ferry with the car and a Use & Liability Agreement to sign.brbrIf you prefer a bigger car, HEIMITI CAR rents Baic BJ40 4x4 that also works well for our road. There are two tables outside-- one shaded from the sun under the Hotu tree, and one that's perfect for watching the sunset. We built a dreamy outside shower by the ocean with hot water and plenty of privacy for those who want to enjoy bathing outside. There is a hammock that hangs above the water from the mango trees that lean out over the lagoon in the serene north corner of the property. You are welcome to pick fruits and flowers. Right outside your door you will find guavas, papayas, passionfruits, avocados, mangos, grapefruits, limes, breadfruit, pineapples, and other exotic fruits you may not have tried. Nov-May is the high season for fruit, but there’s always something to eat right from the garden. brbrThe property faces west, so you can enjoy the magnificent Tahitian sunsets each evening-- If you’re here during whale season between July and October, you can even see and hear whales passing by right in front of the house!brbrMy wife and I live in a smaller home on the south side of the property, but we will give you plenty of privacy. We have 3 adult dogs that are super friendly and will want to meet you. I am from Huahine, and I am happy to share info or history about my island or open a fresh coconut for you to drink. I speak Tahitian, French, and English, and my wife is American so she speaks English perfectly so communication should be easy. brbrThis is a wonderful base from which to enjoy the surrounding magic of Huahine, but it’s also such a special place on its own that you might just want to spend some time at home relaxing in the peaceful surroundings. brbrHOUSE RULES: br1. Please take off your shoes before entering the house. br2. Smoking is allowed outside of the house only--on the deck or in the yard.br3. Only the people who are booked on your reservation are allowed at the house or on the property. br4. If something is broken during your stay, please tell us as soon as possible. Many items in the house are not easy to get in Huahine, so it can take time to replace them.br5. We ask that you use MINERAL SUNSCREENS while staying with us in order to respect the live corals in front of the house. Mineral sunscreens are available at the supermarket in town, or we also have some for sale with us at home. br6. Due to social politics on the island we cannot host guests coming to Huahine to surf. br7. Flying drones from our yard is prohibited. It makes the dogs crazy, plus there are strict rules for drones in French Polynesia.
