The town's beaches are just 250m and 400m away. A little lane running behind the house makes it easy to walk to both the beaches and the town's centre. Other beaches nearby include Agios Spiridon and lovely Avlaki, one of the island's most beautiful. Corfu Town, which is well worth a visit or two, is approximately 1 hour's drive south, and there are plenty of spots to stop off at for a swim on the way. Corfu's mountainous hinterland, where you can enjoy great walking and a different atmosphere from that of the coast, is within easy striking distance. A visit to the deserted town of Old Perithia is an easy and fascinating trip.
