Oneiro - Three Bedroom Villa, Sleeps 6

Antipaxos, Antipaxos, Greece

Dreamy, enchanting, seductive: Oneiro is the ultimate romantic retreat away from it all.brbrPerched on a hill in the centre of the tiny island of Antipaxos and imbued with an intoxicatingly sensuous Mediterranean atmosphere, Oneiro combines never-ending sea views, exquisite seclusion, shady al fresco areas, a panoramic pool, stylish interiors and easy access on foot to beaches and tavernas.brbrInside: Oneiro is a simple villa with a practical layout that makes the most of its panoramic position and its generous outdoor areas. The main entrance takes one into the luminous, open-plan living area and kitchen-diner. Furnished comfortably and boasting great views, this charming room features lofty white-beamed ceilings and connects directly with the outdoor areas and pool via a series of large glass doors. brbrA short corridor leads from the living area to two bedrooms, a double and a double-twin each with its own en-suite shower room. In-keeping with the overall style of the house, these bedrooms have high white-beamed ceilings and direct access to the terraces surrounding the house. One has views out to sea. brbrThe third bedroom, a double-twin, is situated under the terraces and accessed by an external flight of steps. While not being as attractive or as bright as the other bedrooms, it is large, has a comfortable sofa, a small fridge and its own dedicated shower room just next door, and might be suitable for any teenagers in your group.brbrOutside: Oneiro's outdoor areas are superb! Shady furnished terraces, accessed from both the living area and the two bedrooms wrap around the house. Directly outside the indoor living area and overlooking the pool and the sea is the largest open-air lounge area, furnished for relaxing, chatting and reading. Another great spot is to be found just a few metres under some shady trees. brbrTo one side of the house is the inviting al fresco dining area and outdoor kitchen. It is equipped with a large barbecue, gas hobs and a sink, making it the perfect spot to rustle up your meals. When you're not cooking or dining, however, you'll probably be reclining by the attractive pool from where the views of the sea and Antipaxos' verdant coastline are at their best.brbrDue to the relatively limited number of hydrofoil/ferry connections between Corfu and Paxos in the shoulder seasons, we recommend arriving in Corfu by midday or, alternatively, adding a night in Corfu town the day before and/or after your time in Paxos.brbrPlease note that the bedroom on the lower floor is not quite at the same standard as those on the main floor and its bathroom is accessed externally.brbrThere are no proper roads and no shops on Antipaxos.brbrWe will stock your fridge with food and wine on arrival (foodstuffs not included) and then you can either go shopping yourselves in Paxos or request the shopping service at a small charge.brbrThere are a couple of tavernas on the beaches (open from June to September), but they do not usually open in the evening.brbrShould you wish to discover the beaches and coast of Antipaxos by boat (which we would thoroughly recommend!), we would be happy to arrange the rental of a boat that could be moored on Antipaxos. Please contact us for information and prices.brOneiro is situated on the tiny 4km-long island of Antipaxos, which is an oasis of serenity and peace and totally unspoilt. There are no shops (those staying at Oneiro can order deliveries of supplies), no real roads, only a couple of tavernas and just a scattering of houses. brbrAntipaxos is all about peace and quiet and glorious beaches, such as those at Voutoumi and Vrika, which are just a few minutes' drive or a 15-20-minute walk away. The former, the closest to Oneiro, has a couple of tavernas serving lunch on the beach (from June to September), catering also for the day trippers who come in from nearby Paxos (you can go in the opposite direction if you fancy exploring another island). Once the last boat has left in the late afternoon, total tranquillity falls on the island, the sun sets and the stars and moon shine brightly in the night skies.brbrApart from its beaches, Antipaxos is home to some beautiful chalk-white stretches of coastline, a host of olive groves and a large vineyard, which produces some excellent wine... a glass of this at sundown on the terrace of your villa, looking out to sea is one of the most relaxing things you will ever do!brbrFind out more about travel to/from Antipaxos and about getting around while you're there.brbrArrival details will be confirmed by The Thinking Traveller after your villa is confirmed.brbrThe Thinking Traveller can organise transfers and car hire and an agent will be in touch with you once your villa is confirmed.
