The distance to the village with shopping facilities, thermal baths, indoor swimming pool and bus station is 1 kilometre. The nearest mountain can be reached on foot or by cable car, it is the mountain station of Vounetz at 1630 metres. Ski lifts can be used here in winter, while in summer you can enjoy wonderful hikes with views of the Fribourg Pre-Alps.brbrThere is also a reservoir near Charmey, the Lac de Montsalvens. Charmey is on the way to the Jaun Pass and is the last village where people still speak mainly (but not only!) French. From the chalet you can make excursions to the hiking and skiing areas as well as cycle tours.
