You'll also find additional fan-heaters in the cottage if you need them.brbrSea viewsbrFrom the top floor rear window, there are good views over the town, and across the sea and bay where you can see the neighbouring town of Charmouth and its surrounding coastline. You'll also have a nice view across town from the bathroom window.brBut the best views will always be from the Beach Hut. Located on Marine Parade, the Beach Hut has un-interrupted views of the beach, sea and Cobb Harbour.brbrAccessibilitybrAs you can read from the reviews, our guests enjoy the unique layout of the cottage. But holiday makers with mobility problems might find the cottage layout over three floors (two staircases) and the compact bathroom a little tricky. So please ask for a copy of our Accessibility Statement if in doubt.brbr*** PARKING ***brOur lovely cottage is over 300 years old, so like other historic centrally located properties in Lyme Regis built when the town relied almost solely on 'Poldark' style transport, there isn’t any dedicated carparking. However, there are short-stay parking bays available about 10 metres away at the small library, short term on-street parking around the area, as well as two long-stay, large, well-lit public carparks about 5 minutes walk. There are a choice of council owned carparks. Our preference is The Holmbush car park which is the largest, is well lit, and is about 7 minutes walk from the cottage.brbr*** LYME REGIS & DORSET ***brThe coastline around Dorset and East Devon is awesome, and has World Heritage site status, offering walkers breath-taking views and challenging terrain. There’s also plenty of attractions in Lyme Regis itself – a day in our beach hut, a mackerel fishing trip from the Cobb Harbour, a visit to the Marine Aquarium, Lyme Regis Museum or the Dinosaur Museum, a guided fossil hunt on the beach, touring around the town's art galleries, enjoying a live show or movie at the Marine Theatre, or a game of crazy golf. In the summer there’s usually a Jazz Festival, Fossil Festival, Carnival Week and Lifeboat Week. brbrThere are sandy, shingle, beach-combing and famous fossil-hunting beaches in Lyme Regis; as well as rock pools, safe swimming and many water sports including sailing, wind-surfing and water skiing. The famous harbour at the Cobb is home to both working fishing boats and leisure vessels.brbrLyme Regis is gaining an excellent regional reputation with foodies. In the town overlooking the Cobb Harbour is the Hix Oyster House, and there’s a new wave of great pubs and restaurants throughout the town, as well as a hand-full of takeaway restaurants. Hugh Fearnley Whittingstall’s River Cottage Canteen is close by in Axminster, just 15 minutes away by car; and the famous Hive Beach Café at Burton Bradstock is just the other side of Bridport. We're happy to pass on recommendations.brbrIf you enjoy cooking, Lyme Regis has its own fishmongers down at the Harbour, a cheesemonger and bakery close to the Town Mill. There's also great independent stores stocking local produce. For everyday grocery shopping there’s a small Tescos and Co-op.

A couple's paradise in the heart of Lyme Regis moments from the beach

Lyme Regis, England, United Kingdom

The Bothy is another property that we’ve beautifully renovated throughout, furnished with an exceptional attention to detail and something that we didn’t control but was a key reason to why we purchased this apartment; it’s location is just incredible.brbrLocated in the bustling streets of Lyme Regis’s old town, this well sized, self-catered apartment is everything a couple or single traveller could want when visiting the Dorset coast. The Bothy’s location is one of a kind and the strong green painted exterior really makes this lovely property stand out on the surrounding colourful Coombe Street. With The Town Mill Bakery, The Millside (one of our favourite restaurants) and Lyme Regis’s micro-brewery all less than 50 metres away, you’re spoilt for choice! Being at the bottom of Lyme and on the flattest part of town, the apartment makes it an ideal option for those wanting to avoid hills.brbr Behind the front door awaits a striking, ground floor, one bedroom apartment with warm colour tones throughout. You’ll step into the combined living, kitchen and dining area which has strong bold orange interiors and plenty of space for two people to feel at home. The Smart TV offers you Netflix and other applications at your fingers tips for cosy nights in. Within this area, you have a well equipped kitchen, a romantic dining table and black rattan chair set, as well as two well sized sofas to relax into. A Nespresso machine, copper ice bucket for bottles of wine, dishwasher, gas hob and oven are few examples of how well this property has been furnished for your getaway to Lyme Regis.brbr The bedroom offers a comfy double bed with luxurious Morris & Co bed sheets as well as dark orange velvet quilt for the colder evenings on the Dorset coast. The open wardrobe, large chest of drawers and bedside storage offer plenting of space for when you’ve unpacked your bags. The decor and paint finishes are bold in colour and bring warmth to the apartment’s ambiance.brbr The bathroom has vibrant purple tiles with traditional fixtures and a stylish walk-in shower to rinse off the sand toes, as well as a heated towel rail to warm the lilac John Lewis towels provided. Please note that the bedroom and bathroom are tucked away from the main street and therefore natural light for these bedrooms predominantly comes from the velux window in the bathroom and from the front aspect.brbr brbrThis property is pet friendly so please feel free to bring your fury friend with you.
