wonderful villa with beautiful view of the mountains

Villa lovely in a extremely rural area. Villa in appearance is very tired and needs updating, and a good clean.Driveway difficult to get up in a family vehicle. Pool light is broken, only one light working and we had to ask for that to be enabled so we could put it on. We did pay extra for the pool to be heated. Pool umbrella is broken so you cannot sit and watch kiddies without sun burning. Sunbeds mostly broken, and graveyard in backyard previously broken sunbeds.I didn't mind paying extra for luxury items like pool heating, but I do mind paying for sheets and bed linen, which is an essential. Be prepared for eveything to be at an extra cost, at a high rate. The aircon at the moment is 150euros a week, I didn't mind a charge but that is far too expensive!, as we would have only used it in the evenings. Hot tub use was an extra, but not needed. Most annoying thing was the gate, only one entry clicker, we were a family with 2 cars so had to wait up at night to open and shut gate for last person to come home. The maintenance man who lived on property (under our bedroom) was supposed leave gate open for us to close when last person returned, but he kept closing the gates.Wifi worked in house, kitchen all good. Washing machine & dish washer worked well, and the BBQ was lovely. Expensive holiday villa, didn't really get what we expected. Allow extra 500euros for bed linen and pool heating, that does not include for air con.

Very pleasant stay, the house is very nice and in an excellent and relaxing area. If you’re looking for nature and relax this will be certainly one of the places to stay. Big enough for a big family or group of friends. The pool is nice (although with wind the pool may get a bit dirty with leaves). There are also always a lot of wasps around the pool looking for water and some end up dying inside the pool. The access to the house (outside) is not ideal for big cars but still manageable. The house could have some sort of shed for one or two cars (there’s plenty of space and during summer time under the sun the whole day, the car gets too warm inside). The garden is great to stay, and enjoy the pool. In front of the kitchen there’s a very nice place to eat outside

Everything was great, the Villa is beautiful and the locatiion is serene. Marco is very responsive and friendly, will definitly be back, hopefully soon!

A little paradise in the heart of nature ?

Our family of 6 adults recently stay at Villa Murta for 3 weeks in May24 and were very pleased with our decision to stay here. The villa was very large and fit our family well. We enjoyed the pool and the pool table and the location to Faro and surrounding area was easy to access. The road leading to the villa is very narrow so a smaller vehicle is recommended. The location to the closest Lidl and Continente grocery stores in Sao Bras de Alportel was very convenient. Thank you Villa Murta for an awesome family vacation. !

We truly enjoyed this location. The host was very responsive to requests. The home is beautiful, as is the property.

Enjoyed a relaxing October break in this beautiful rural villa, very well appointed, and very clean. Marco was extremely helpful and we look forward to returning next year. Highly recommended

This is a lovely property with lots of space, but feels a little tired, a bit like the service by owner/manager… We made our booking, then booked our flights…then the owner got in touch saying we had to move to a day later - our flights were already fixed. Eventually he agreed we could work with the original date. But communications were terse. I was concerned about finding the property as we were arriving late and previous reviews said it was difficult to find, but it was no problem. I asked the owner to ensure some water and fruit, for example, were left In the property as we would be very late arrivals. There was nothing left for us. We paid 35€ per room for towels and bedding - the info booklet at the property said towels would be changed mid week and bed linen after a week - and cleaning. This did not happen, despite me contacting the manager and owner, who said that no info booklet existed (?) and I would have to pay again per room if i wanted bedding changed - I even photographed the booklet - really disappointing! I had also asked if it was possible for some other pillows. That was a ignored. The pool filters did not seem to be running or the baskets cleared so I messaged to check - the owner told me to stop worrying about small stuff and enjoy my holiday…. Our aircon stopped working the day before we left - I messaged to report it and the manager rang to tell me where the trip switch was - this did not solve the problem and nothing else was done. Shame.
