We stayed with our mixed-aged family group (7 adults, 6 children 7 and under) for a weekend visit. The location and views were gorgeous, and the property had a lot to recommend it. At the same time, the level of cleanliness left something to be desired. There was a sticky/dirty knife in the knife block, and two old pieces of pizza in the oven that we discovered when we turned it on to cook something. Also the bath mats and comforters could all have used a wash (particularly in the basement), and we were unable to use the trundle bed in the downstairs theater room because of what looked like mouse droppings on the mattress (and also we couldn't find any sheets for that bed if it had been clean). Also, the kids loved the game room downstairs, but the table under the dart board has a lot of inappropriate graffiti that we had to try to distract the children from reading/looking at. Would have been 5 stars but for cleanliness issues.
We were staying above clouds.
Our group of 8 adults stayed for 3 nights and enjoyed every minute! The view from the deck is stunning and was a great spot for morning coffee and nighttime relaxing. The house was very clean, beds we’re comfortable, and it had ample room for us to spread out. It was a quick drive to the hiking trails, the gas station/convenient store, and Devil’s Backbone Brewing Co. We all loved the trip and appreciate the hospitality!
Talk about top of the world views!!!! This was our second time staying at this beautiful home with several family friends. The kids loved the ping pong, shuffle board, bumper ball, games galore and of course the hot tub. Adults loved the AMAZING sunrises in the morning viewed from every room, the ample room to spread out, the huge kitchen and roaring fire every evening. We were there to ski and hike and couldn’t have asked for a better stay! The owner and property manager were very accommodating and bent over backwards to ensure our stay was the best it could possibly be. They were very communicative and gracious with my long list of questions and requests. We will be back sooner rather then later to continue making the best memories in this beautiful home!
This house was everything promised and more! The views were incredible, the house was clean, kitchen well stocked and the beds were comfortable. We would stay here again.
Great property.
Our executive team spent several days using the house for our annual planning session. Morning sunrises and great views were a perfect backdrop for our trip.
We took a team of 6 to stay in Wintergreen for a staff retreat. The house and view were amazing. There was plenty of space to spread out and areas to entertain ourselves. The house was close to both the Wintergreen activities as well as very close to the 151 beer and wine trail. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing vacation with an absolutely breathtaking view!
Beautiful house with a wonderful view but as the other reviews mentioned, this house was lacking a few things. It was very clean but there were large flies (alive and dead) everywhere. Lots of lights did not work in rooms making them hard to use. Kitchen lacked supplies for a house that sleeps so many & dining table only seats 6. Limited towels. Coffee pot did not work. For a luxury listing like this you’d hope everything would be in top notch shape. Check in was smooth and again it is a beautiful house right near the resort.
We asked the Owner to remove the 3 night minimum for a mid-week stay and they said okay! Very nice people that want others to enjoy themselves. We are going for another two night stay next month, way cheaper and all the breweries and trails much less busy! The leaves and stars are amazing with that view
This was supposed to be a luxury accommodation at a very luxurious price. Though the view was unbelievable and the house itself presents very well I was really disappointed with the lack of maintenance, supplies, and linens. The kitchen was stocked with minimal and cheap pans, no real serving dishes at all for a sleeps 13 house, a Walmart quality coffee pot that did not work properly, a hot tub with no pool towels nor bath towels -hot tub was not clean- hairs-debris-ear ring at the bottom, bath towels were thin and clearly old (& not matching), only one extra blanket, no extra pillows, beds by the theater had a bottom sheet and pillows no blankets at all, 5 lightbulbs out -including a bathroom that was essentially unusable because you couldn't see, the light globe in main floor bedroom was on the desk and lightbulbs left exposed, duvet cover in main floor bedroom left unzipped and zipper broken, , electric outlets on porch did not work, candles with no batteries, fireplace in master did not work, main floor bedroom porch was full of debris and cobwebs, basement bedroom sliding door took 2-3 people to open or close. This rental was for my daughters bridal party and the need to purchase items that should have been available in the middle of prepping for the wedding and caring for family was beyond frustrating and truly unacceptable.
We had a lovely time during our stay for a long weekend. The view is unbelievable!! The house was spacious, well laid out, with great outdoor space including a very large hot tub. Check in/out communications went very well, instructions were easy to follow, hosts were super responsive and friendly. There are a few small improvements that would really make this a 5 star house. The kitchen has bare bones amenities if you plan on doing a lot of your own cooking. There are no serving bowls/plates/dishes etc. and limited cutting boards (we only found 1) so cooking and serving for a large group was a little challenging but we made it work! The gas fireplace in the master was not working and we could not find batteries for the remote, there were a few lights out (master bathroom toilet), some hair still in the main level shower), but nothing super inconvenient. Like previous reviewers have mentioned, towels are not abundant (but we planned ahead and brought some too), there were no extra blankets/pillows, and there were no linens or pillows for the trundle (I searched the whole house!). We did not end up using the trundle so it didn’t affect us, but if you plan to use it I would make sure to communicate in advance so these are supplied. I think a few minor investments into stocking the kitchen, upgrading linens, and having extra blankets and pillows would really knock this out of the park!! I would rent this house again in a heartbeat despite all of this and just bring more of our own supplies.
House and management were all excellent.
My friends and I stayed here for a long weekend and absolutely loved the house. It was big enough for the entire group and the pictures do not capture how fabulous the view was. The kitchen/ house was pretty well stocked with basics, but missing a few things that you may want to pack (colander, plastic wrap, Tupperware, throw blankets), but overall had everything we could need. I would highly recommend this house and look forward to coming back some day.
This property was perfect from the views, to spacious guest rooms, nearby amenities, breweries and more. While we thoroughly enjoyed out time, we felt communication with property management was terrible. We had 10 people and only 8 towels for a 3 night stay including a hot tub. We were all sharing towels. Management took a while to get back with us, never offered to bring us more towels or how to acquire them and it was the day before we left suggesting we needed to drive somewhere in order to obtain more towels. This property is run by evolve and they do not provide communication within the VRBO app. From payment confirmations, any questions you may have etc. Are emailed to you separately. No form of communication was being given in the VRBO app which made me feel prior to the trip that it was a scam. Terrible communication staying here. My advice is bring towels and don't expect for evolve to respond in a timely manner or even within the VRBO app at all.
