The home itself is beautiful, but there are several things guests should be aware of. Inside the main house, there are only two bedrooms and one bathroom. Unfortunately, the shower is not functional — the holder for the showerhead is broken, so you have to sit in the bathtub and use the handheld piece. It was honestly one of the most stressful shower experiences I’ve had.Air conditioning is also an issue. There is only one unit near the front door, which somewhat cools the two bedrooms if you keep the doors open, but that means giving up all privacy. The kitchen and living room area have no air conditioning. Normally this wouldn’t be a problem if you could keep the beautiful doors open for a breeze, but there are no screens or mosquito guards. Because of this, the house becomes infested with mosquitoes, which was unbearable. We also noticed ants and other bugs on the floor. While I understand the home is surrounded by nature, better upkeep and pest control would make a huge difference for guests. The other bedrooms are located outside of the main house. This could be ideal for some groups, but for us it wasn’t — we wanted to stay together as a family. On the positive side, the kitchen is very well equipped, the outdoor grill was great, the pool was wonderful, and the long dining tables with plenty of chairs made for lovely group dinners. Those features really added to our stay.Overall, though, the home fell short in terms of comfort and luxury, which was disappointing.

This is a great villa. We were 11 adults from Australia, and the villa and its amenities were great. Bedrooms were large. Bathrooms for all couples. Kitchen and inside dining area was very spacious and functional. Outside dining area was very comfortable adjacent to the beautiful swimming pool. We loved the immediate area and it was quite close to local eateries and facilities. A car is essential. We used the villa as our base to tour Puglia. A wonderful experience. Special thanks to Enza and Domenico for looking after us.

An beautiful villa with excellent facilities catering for young and old. It is a little tired around the edges but this simply adds to the rustic charm of the villa. The pool was great with lots of toys left from previous guest which the children enjoyed. Nothing was too much trouble for Enza who let us and guided us to the villa on arrival. She was a lovely host accommodating us all perfectly We would love to return

My Family of 11 just spent two wonderful weeks at Villa Barbara. The place is magical with beautiful furnishings and a fantastic pool. We found the staff from HelloApulia most cooperative and attentive. It was all good! Morris Lazzaro

Villa Barbara is a lovely villa with lots of space, it is a little tired in areas, but can get away with it with the whole Italian rustic charm! We discovered that the pool alarm advertised had been disconnected which was a shame as this had been a selling point to us with having 2 young children and a very open pool. There were no instructions on this or how to set the house alarm, so we had a few days of trying to find out how they both worked, so this would be useful for future guests. We also had a real problem finding the meeting point to collect the keys and even after staying for a week still have no idea where the bar was! They were however very patient with how late we were when we did eventually meet and were quite thorough in showing us around. We found the villa to be very remote and nothing much within walking distance, but we had cars so this wasn't a huge problem and there are lots of beautiful places to visit within an hours drive and supermarkets about a 10 minute drive away. The villa is really well kitted out with everything you could need and we really enjoyed our week there! There is wifi in the main house which was great, but you couldn't pick it up in any of the rooms in the outbuildings which was a shame. All in all, I would recommend it to anyone who wants a nice villa, with lots of space, as long as you are happy to drive everywhere!

Our experience of Villa Barbara was in general good to very good. There were a few minor niggles but nothing of major concern. Villa - very good infrastructure and pool- which was well looked after. Interesting area, good restaurants, friendly neighbours and lots of sunshine. Unfortunately, the burglary just after we arrived did mar the whole experience. However, HelloApulia staff were helpful and pleasant - and the free boat tour was appreciated. regards Brian S.
