The Westin Nanea Ocean Villas (3BR)

On Christmas evening, I had just finished cleaning up after dinner and was preparing to pack my bag. We would be departing for the airport at 4:30am the next morning. I checked my email around 6:30pm and noticed an email from the host of this unit, that I had booked months before. The email stated that my booking (which was to start the next day) was being cancelled and I would get a refund in 8-10 days. I am 5 months pregnant, and was traveling with 4 children. My immediate thought was that this email was sent by mistake. My emails, texts, and phone calls to the host went unreasoned to. I was floored. Instead of enjoying the rest of Christmas evening with my family, I spent 3 hours on the phone with VRBO and scouring the internet for a replacement booking. VRBO didn’t have any bookings within a 24 hour period, so I had to find something through a different forum. I was only able to find a much smaller unit for the day of our arrival. We had to get up early on day 2 of our visit to check out of that room and wait to check into another room. I never did hear from the host. No explanation for the cancellation. No apology for the stress and tears that this caused me on Christmas evening. If you are considering booking this unit. I would highly suggest that you reconsider.

We had booked a 3 bedroom VRBO way in advance for my husband and adult daughter and son. We wanted to stay togerther in one unit. 3 days before we were traveling from the states to Hawaii, we were informed by the host that the owner was being difficult and we were not allowed to stay in the unit we booked! They wanted us to cram into a 2 bedroom villa which meant one of the adults would have to sleep on a pull out couch! NOT acceptable. After much discussion, the best they were able to do was one 2 bedroom villa and one 1 bedroom villa which were NOT by each other! When we got to the resort they couldn't even find our reservation! IT was a mess! The resort ending up helping us NOT the host and NOT VRBO!!!! (We had numerous phone calls to VRBO in the 3 days leading up to our trip and they NEVER satisfied us!) To my knowledge no action has been take against the owner which is NOT ACCEPTABLE!!! I have rented countless VRBO's in the past 15 years and feel we were treated very poorly! We are filing a legal complaint against the owner.
