Short easy walk to the beach. 4 bedrooms met our needs for all 9 of us, 3 were under 12 years old. Dining room table seated all nine of us using an extra chair from the foyer. Kitchen had pretty much every cooking utensil we needed and the beverage fridge helped accommodate all the extra drinks. I always feel damp in Hilton Head condos and this trip was no different. It’s probably due to a couple rainy days, lots of showers and wet towels. The washer and dryer took a long time. Not big enough for the needs of 9 but it wouldn’t stop us from renting here again.

The unit was in a great location about three blocks from the beach. It was clean and had everything we needed. The check-in process was seamless and we received periodic texts during the week to ask if we had any questions or concerns.When we visit HHI in the future we will not hesitate to book this villa again.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We are easy going people and can put up with a lot. We suspected mold on the first day and told them so. They did get a dehumidifier, extremely loud one that needed emptied 5 times a day, but they denied it could be mold. We tested for mold ourselves (Tue) and it was positive (Fri). I took it in to show property management; we only had 2 days left at this point. Still, nothing done. No offer of any refund either. My wife was sick all week. We weren’t offered a different location at any time and didn't know that would even be an option. This was the first time our whole family was able to be together for vacation. Many maintenance issues in the property we could deal with, but not the mold. Food stains on the couch and it had a very dirty, musty smell as well. I am trying to be brief with only 2000 characters (20,000 not enough). This is our 3rd year staying at Palmetto Dunes, but the 1st thru the resort. It will be our last with the resort. We were not pleased with how they handled the mold problem even after we left. They offered a refund of fees (after a threat of a lawsuit) but after all we went through, this was like throwing a bone to a dog. If we could’ve gotten some fresh air by leaving the sliding door open, that would’ve helped. The one in the downstairs BR (where mold was the worst) was broken and wouldn’t open. The LR door didn’t have a screen. Our biggest disappointment, if the rest of this wasn’t enough, was how they handled the mold issue after our stay. We asked for a discount or something and we were blamed for not requesting another place to stay, again, we didn’t know that was an option...we aren’t the professionals. We then were basically ignored until we threatened a lawsuit. Still, all that was offered was a few hundred dollars of fees. It has now been over 2 months and we are just sick of dealing with it.

It has sharp edges since most of circle broken and someone in our group cut a finger. Also needs a hose attached to help wash off sand from beach on feet and legs. Sshower/tub faucet in king bedroom upstairs loose and hard to get shower head water to come out strong since some of water still coming out faucet.

The hard surface floors in the downstairs living area were very dirty as evidenced on our bare feet. Housekeeping did respond, but initially arrived with just a damp mop. At my insistence, they returned with proper cleaning equipment including a bucket and cleaning agent which rectified the situation. The carpet had seen much better days, but was tolerable. The living room loveseat cushions were very flattened, but this is an issue for the owners and not the resort.

It is a short walk to the beach and the pool is nice with plenty of chairs although the water was really cold. Our only complaint was that we rented for a week but there was no toilet paper or paper towels and no cooking items like salt, pepper, etc.The home had been cleaned and trash put in cans outside but despite our calls it was not emptied for 3 days.

We didn’t know the pool wasn’t open so that was disappointing as it was a selling point. Worker at the general store was kinda rude. Great location and easy walk to beach. House was awesome.
