We had a large crew and this house had plenty of room for all. Large table and lots of room to hang out. The location to the mountain is great- so close! You can walk through the snow to a restaurant. Unfortunately, the new pool was not ready yet, but it looks like it will be gorgeous and we would come back again.
House was clean and comfortable. Great for a large group.
This house is huge, with plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms to accommodate a large group of 15+. It's also a very short drive to the base of Mt. Snow, so for a big ski weekend it checks every box. As the owners acknowledge, the house does need renovations, which you can tell are underway. The house is in better shape than the pictures, but with the updates this place will be everything you need for a big ski trip.
Overall ~ a great weekend. Very cold @ (-25*F) but well worth it. Location was awesome - just 5 min to Mount Snow! Online description ~ vague at best. Floor plans weren’t accurate for room assignments as required by family size. Kitchen lacking the essentials & not enough for all 21 of us. Glad we bought disposable hot & cold cups. Light switches & outlets ~ Never saw so many that do nothing or not what you’d expect by proximity. No info. provided (instructions for hot tub, sauna, location of firewood, extra blankets) ~ the house became a scavenger hunt. The property Managment team were awesome! They Responded promptly, regardless of the time & arrived on site quickly when needed. We are planning to return next year.
Great older large home. Not the home it’s represented as though. Tennis court is more of a lawn that you can’t use , no hot water, late check in due to sewage leak, can’t play shuffle board as it’s completely broken, some of the furniture pictured doesnt exist. Cleaning people were awesome, but owner is clearly an immoral con artist. This house is like buying a large wynnebego with all the features and then you receive an old schoolbus with no seats that’s doesn’t run
Perfect for our needs. Lots of space and fun things to do. Seemed like every bedroom had a private bathroom.
This house was very dirty!! Lots of space and a bathroom in every room which was great but the mice were everywhere! Dead & alive. We found dead mice in the cabinets in the kitchen as well as live mice running across the floor. We bought food to cook since we can’t go out to eat because of COVID. We were not able to cook it because of how dirty the house was. A mouse chewed one of my friends towels. The owner claimed the house cleaners vacuum was broken at the time. VRBO refuses to do anything because we stayed the weekend and didn’t leave. We drove 4 hours away and not much around with 20 people so we didn’t have a choice but to stay. Mold was everywhere! Don’t recommend staying here especially if you have children.
The check-in process wasn't easy. The property manager doesn't check VRBO so none of my messages were answered. No information on check-in was provided. I had to contact VRBO customer support to get the property manager's phone number so I could contact her. She didn't seem happy that I called her. Also, if I hadn’t called her – I wouldn’t had known that we needed to provide our own bedsheets, towels, and linens… Upon checking in on Friday, we discovered that were tons of trash bags left outside the front door from previous guests- like over 20 bags of trash and boxes and boxes of pizza and budlight. Animals had gotten into them, and there were food and trash everywhere. She had asked my friends to help clean up the mess with their bare hands... and asked to use our trash bags that we brought up ourselves. So we didn't have enough, and she only supplied us with one more trash bag for the weekend (we were a group of 15!) I had informed her via VRBO about having a pet, but since she never checked it – she was surprised we had a dog with us. She required us to pay the pet fee and wouldn’t leave until we handed it over. The house was the perfect size, with a bathroom for each bedroom - and the common areas were great to gather as a group. But the couches were dirty and worn out. One of the chairs at the dining table was broken and had a dangerously sharp piece of wood hanging off. You could tell the kitchen and bathrooms weren’t cleaned very well, and we were glad that we thought to bring Clorox wipes. Many of the bathrooms didn’t have hand soap. The dishwasher didn’t work. Indoor pool was great to have, but there was black mold everywhere downstairs from the humidity. Some of the rooms had broken heating. The quilts and blankets don’t get washed between guests… owner had asked us to make the beds before we left. On Saturday, she surprised everyone when she suddenly stopped by to finish cleaning up after the last group as we were having lunch. She felt it was necessary to walk through the house and into each of the bedrooms on the main floor without informing us. Then she told she'd unfortunately have to charge us extra for electricity if we kept the lights on. Property owner seemed to be trying to do her best, but this place should either have a professional cleaning service between each stay (especially during a pandemic) or not have been rented out if it isn’t maintained well.
We booked the house weeks in advance, recieved a reservation confirmation with VRBO, but the owner would not give check in info. Tried one week out, one day before our stay and the day of. Nothing....had to call VRBO customer service, was told owner had a stroke at first, then was told it was double booked with a diff site. We had our bags packed and no where to stay. This should have never happened!! The owners had weeks to notified us of the booking mistake when we first booked. We were also disconnected twice while on hold with customer service. Spent over 2 hours on the phone the day of our stay to find out that we could not stay. Don't know the truth about this booking mistake, hope the owner is ok but will never go this route again!
The house is HUGE and has enough room for 22 people. But here are some of the issues: The kitchen was NOT clean, there were rat droppings at multiple places in the kitchen. The owner said she cleaned the place herself, but the place is too large for a single person to clean effectively. The microwave had a large visible crack in the glass door. The fridge was functional. The owner could not figure out why the dishwasher wasn't working. The owner doesn't really communicate with VRBO so didn't really know anything about our reservation. She was our key contact & she was not able to resolve most of our issues promptly. I got the feeling that the owner was trying her best, but she should not have rented this place in the current condition.
