Stayed Aug 19, 2023Well equipped for a family of 6 - just a 6 minute walk to the beach. Had a disruption when brown water poured through the kitchen ceiling one morning but the problem soon stopped and did not reoccur. Also one queen size mattress was creaky and uncomfortable but everything else was great.

Stayed Nov 22, 2022We have stayed in several areas in Shipyard Plantation and this was by far our favorite. We loved the proximity to the beach. We will definitely use this again in the future.

Stayed Jul 9, 2022Overall for our stay positives generally outweighed negatives. We’ve stayed @ other beachwalk units & LOVE the location. A short walk/bike ride to beach access & pool also very close by. This unit was well stocked w/ kitchen cook/glassware, Brita, keurig & utensils as well as soaps,t.p,foil,coffee filt,p.t. We found extra blankets/pillows in closets upstairs & downstairs console, a few dog toys, bowls, & baby gate. The unit layout was very spacious & thoughtful (new/more seating would b nice in living r). we greatly appreciated carpet stairs/area rugs, esp since handrails don’t exist in these units (ppl/dog have slipped in units w/o carpet stairs). Gate on back porch was also great. The negatives Our 1st day was by far the worst. When the 1st of us arrived to get the car passes we found only 1, which was on us, we hadn’t checked texts from them & emails had gone to spam. staff was incredibly rude from the second we contacted them, which can be expected working w/ sunset rentals. Initially they said we only paid for 1 pass so we’ll only get 1. When we said we were happy to pay for the addtl 2 they said we’d only be allowed 1 more per shipyard rules, which we know is untrue from past years. They transferred us to someone else who said she’d charge for 2 & see what happens but had no idea how long they’d take to be ready, all she could do was send the request to shipyard once we’d paid. Meanwhile we’d received a text that cleaning was behind & we now couldn’t check in until 5:30. Once we were finally able to get into the unit we found trash by the front door that had ripped open at the bottom with trash spilling out, disposal wasn’t working but had fruit/other food sitting in it which had lead to 2 types of flies all over the unit. We went out and bought a hex key & fly traps & were able to get the disposal going & flies somewhat under control. Other than 1 HUGE palmetto bug & the flies it was as bug free as any other rental we’ve stayed at. The cable box thing went out in the master on 2nd night, can’t speak for the ones in the other rooms as we didn’t use them, the 2nd bedroom sink didn’t drain well, & other than the master the beds were definitely some of the most uncomfortable that we’ve experienced on the island… we were a little sore but it was manageable. Unsure whether we’ll stay again, we prefer not to work w/ sunset rentals, that aside it was a fairly good stay. If you receive vayk credit ignore it! see google review for details

Stayed Sep 19, 2020We made arrangements on Thursday, 9-17-2020. We were fleeing Hurricane Sally. We called on Saturday, 9-19-2020 around noon to ask if our condo was ready early, could we enter, willing to pay early fees. The woman was quite rude and said we would be text when the condo was ready and no sooner. We received a text at 1600 that the condo was clean and ready! We had done our grocery shopping, arrived at the condo at 1600. Unloaded the car in the front foyer. Then went to look at condo. To our horror, beds unmade with dirty linen still on them, dirty laundry, dirty dishes in dishwasher, dirty refrigerator. In this year of COVID, as a healthcare worker who takes care of COVID patients, entering a dirty condo was a nightmare! NO CLEANING had been done! Called company who patched me to housekeeping. The man I spoke to told me “ You don’t have to stay there!” As controlled as I could be, I asked him where he wanted me to go, as my groceries were thawing on the counter? So, we were not able to have our condo until 1830! No apologies, just rudeness! Very unhappy with your customer service!
