BEAR PREVENTION POLICY
Please take these steps to prevent unwelcome bear visits:
- Don’t leave ANY windows or doors open on the first floor. Screens are not bear-proof. Lock the windows on the first floor at dusk and keep them locked all night. Windows on second and third floor can remain open at night for ventilation.
- Be sure to lock all 3 doors on the first floor every evening and through the night (bears are most active after dusk). Bears can easily open doors that are unlocked.
-Don’t leave food in cars. Bears will break in to get food.
-Don’t leave any garbage near the property and dispose of trash in nearby bear-proof designated receptacles (please be sure they close completely).
-Don’t leave pet food outside and don’t feed pets outside.
-Leave a radio or TV on when not at your property.
-Be dominant, not submissive, if a bear comes onto your property.
-Don’t stand there and take photos. The bear will think this behavior is okay.
-DO NOT FEED THE BEARS!
To avoid any unexpected visits from our furry friends, please follow all the recommendations above. If a bear does happen to wander into the villa or your car, we won’t be able to offer a refund. Thank you for helping us keep everyone safe and happy!

My husband and I rented this house for 5 days, 4 nights. We loved the house. The location to everything we did was great. We visited South Lake Tahoe and then all the way to Truckee. We stayed in the master bedroom on the 2nd floor but there were multiple rooms in the house. The downstairs is fairly small so I’m glad it was just he and I. The view from the large window in the living room was gorgeous, especially as we sat and drank our coffee and watched the sunrise each morning. My only complaint about that is once the sun comes up, there is absolutely no way to cover the window so the bright sun takes over the living room and kitchen for a couple hours. The big open window is amazing, except there are two other houses in this little area (we stayed in house B) and when the other houses were occupied, there was zero privacy in the living room/kitchen when other families were out wondering around the property. Other than that, which are small complaints, we thought the house was comfortable, the beds were clean and very cozy, the heated floor in the bathroom was a very nice touch. We stayed in October so there wasn’t any snow but everything around was absolutely breathtaking. We would absolutely stay here again.
We really enjoyed our stay in Homewood. This location is perfect and the grass and beach area right outside is perfect for young kids. The view everyday was amazing. Loved the fully stocked kitchen and the owners really thought of everything you could need. Would love to stay here again.
Great home, amazing views and location!
It is uncommon for us to comment. However, after spending a full week here, we feel compelled to share. We have just experienced the most perfect vacation. Including the location, lodging and a accommodations. Our only selfish reservations…we want to keep this a secret so we won’t have competition for our next visit. If you come here… you will understand — it’s a great place to enjoy God’s creation.
Awesome place for a weekend Ski getaway. Walk across the street to Homewood. Relaxing spot with gorgeous lake view.
Generally a great place to stay! The view from the living room and master bedroom is beautiful. It’s in a great location-across the street from Homewood Ski Resort, right next to Westshore Cafe (which has an excellent food & drinks) and walking distance to Obexer’s. Although the house was dusty and it didn’t look like the living room was vacuumed before our stay, the bathrooms, sheets, and towels were very clean. Parking and getting in and out of the parking spot is a little difficult, mostly because of the snow. Additionally, it’s important to note that the house only has one parking spot and if there’s a lot of snow, a truck would not fit in that spot. But, aside from these small issues, I would recommend this house!
Despite the smoke and unhealthy air quality, the villa was great!
We rented this house for a week in July 2021. When we arrived it was very hot out and even hotter inside the house. We quickly realized that the heated stone floors in the master bath and in the downstairs bath were set at 88 degrees. The one in the master bath could not be shut off even after they sent a service person. The master bath was not very usable for the entire week. It was much too hot and it also made the master bedroom too hot. The next issue was the one television in the house in the living room is set up with a wireless cable company I never heard of that was extremely difficult to use. Every time I turned it on I needed to go through a 5 minute setup to reconnect the wireless. Sometimes it took 2 or 3 times to get it connected. There were no local channels available and also very few of the normal channels we were used to watching like the Golf, ESPN or History channels. I would just get Comcast and make it simple. The next issue was that the windows in the house were filthy, inside and out. The large windows looking out on the lake had fingerprints all over them. The window in the kitchen had food and splash marks all over it. There were also spider webs all over throughout the home. There are also two other homes on the lot that are just a few feet away from this home so there's not much privacy. This was not disclosed in the advertising. For a house that cost over $10,000 for the week this was not a very well maintained home. Great location.
Very fun stay! Perfect location with lake front access and great views!
The property is as pictured and of course fabulous location The fireplace which was in large part the reason fo dc our choice dis not work and the owner did not inform us before arrival or seem especially concerned Otherwise a great stay
