Spacious apartment, Splendid view on sea and mountains

Lovely Villa it has a spectacular view.. washing machine and drying machine is nice.. high speed internet 5G. Comfortable.. Filomena has all the amenities for your stay.. My fiancé and I stayed here for 6 days with a rental car. It had probably one of the ebst views of funchal. Great accessability to the city and main highway. Place was beautfiul and tidy. Lots of amenities to cook and do laundry.

Filomena’s casa was perfect for our stay in Madeira. It was cozy, clean and had beautiful views overlooking Funchal and the ocean. There was a bus stop only 5 minutes away which made going into the city a breeze. If you want to explore other parts of the island, a car is recommended. We loved our time here. Obrigada!

I confess I was expecting an accommodation past its prime, because few recent reviews have posted on VRBO. We were in for a pleasant surprise. As Filomena explains, she purposely downplays the online description so that guests' expectations are exceeded! The house is spacious: two bedrooms, living/dining area, kitchen, bathroom, utility... and of course the balcony overlooking all of Funchal, a view even better than well-publicized miradouros. A slight mustiness, probably comes from the subtropical climate, which we got used to quickly. As others noted, you hear highway noise--but the phenomenal view outweighs this minor disturbance. We cooked in on several evenings, taking advantage of the well-stocked kitchen. Otherwise, we took Bolt/taxis to downtown restaurants, not wanting to deal with traffic and parking)... you need to be patient for Bolt to arrive especially during rush hour. I would suggest ordering your Bolt/taxi 30 minutes before you need it. We drove all over the island in our rental car. The house is very convenient to the highway. A great base! Filomena is an attentive hostess: we had clear instructions to get in the first day, and she even allowed us to check in early. Filomena came around during our visit to make sure we had everything we needed. In summary, this is an excellent base for exploring Madeira--we would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Beautiful house perched high on a hill overlooking Funchal and the harbour. It was clean, comfortable and had everything you needed to make your stay enjoyable.

Filomena is a wonderful, warm hearted landlord who helps out whenever it is needed. You can be sure to be in best hands! The appartement is large enough for 4 people. From the big balcony you have a fantastic view over Funchal und the harbor. There a also places to seat in front of the house and in the garden, where you find BBQs. The garden is very steep and perfectly maintained. The kitchen is well equipped and the table in the living room is big enough for a family. There´s a public bus to Funchal nearby. The apartment is located in the periphery of Funchal, you don´t have shops or restaurants in the neighborhood. A car is needed. Unfortunatly, there´s some noise from the highway. You hear it from the balcony and we couldn't sleep with open windows. And for German habits, the mattresses are a bit hard.

For our very first visit to Madeira in early February 2017, this self-catering accommodation ticks all the boxes! Spacious, homely and well-equipped, with a spectacular birds-eye view of Funchal, its harbour and the sea from both inside the property and outside on a wide veranda with table and chairs, enabling us to enjoy an aperitif whilst watching the sunset. Filomena, the owner, is the most charming and helpful person you could wish to meet. Highly recommended. Mike & Rita Davey

We cannot thank Filomena enough - a superb host who went out of her way in everything to make our stay welcoming and perfect in every way. Nothing was too much for Filomena - why cannot every holiday property owner be like this !!! The property is stunning with amazing views over the city of Funchal, the harbour and the sea. Spacious and with every facility, spotless and well maintained. We do not hesitate to award it 5 stars. We had a hired car for the duration of our stay and once we got used to the climb up to the property - it became a breeze thereafter. I would say that the location of this property means you need a car. It is only 15 minutes drive down to the sea front and the centre of Funchal - or maybe a 10 minute walk downhill to catch a bus into town. But a steep walk back afterwards !!! However - this in NO way detracts from the property location and stunning views from the balcony. Superb - our first time to the island and we couldn't have found anywhere nicer to stay. Muito obrigado Filomena - your beautiful house is a credit to you and thank you for all you did to ensure our holiday was no less than PERFECT.. I can say no more than we'll be back !!!

We were met by Filomena who was lovely and bubbly, she showed us into the villa and the first thing you see is the amazing view from the patio, it really was breath taking. Lovely little touches sets this apart from other accommodation that we have stayed in. 2 beautiful vases of Birds of Paradise in the living/dining room, fresh cut flowers in the hallway. A welcome bottle of Maderia and two tiny glasses on the dining table. Bath robes on the bed. The beds were lovely and comfortable. The patio furniture was very comfortable and the gardens were amazing. The kitchen had everything we required. We had a problem with the internet which was sorted out immediately. Just couldn't fault it, just wonderful
