Nothing disturbs the tranquillity of this lovely villa set way back from the road in the middle of a vineyard. The house is well equipped with great quiet air conditioning really needed in our stay when temperatures got up to 38c. There a lots of beautiful hill-top villages to explore and restaurants galore. The pool was warm even without heating and the whole house running on solar power and well water was certainly eco friendly. The only thing that could be improved is to have some more comfortable seating on the terrace. Our older bodies craved for something soft to sit on. The drive to the house is also very rough and on the hilly parts full of pot holes, but all in all these are minor things and don't detract from the great experience that staying in the villa gives.

Very private. 5 minute drive from Gaiole. Very central in Chianti region. Less than one hour to everywhere, Siena, Montepulciano, Pienza, San Gimignano, Florence, all the cute towns and wineries in Chianti. There are exceptionally good restaurants within 15 minutes drive. Hot tub and pool are perfect. Overlooking vines & a castle. Modern inside with all amenities. Host Birgitta was super helpful and spoke English. Really can’t think how to make it any better. Would stay there again for sure.

Communication and service by Luciano was excellent, although he doesn't speak any english or german. The Villa is locatated just a few kilometers from Gaiole, in a private property facing a vineyard and a vegetable garden. You can pick vegetables and eat grapes as much as you like. La Grotta is furnished very tastefully, there are enough towels, pillows and blankets, the equipment of the kitchen is also very good. There could be more cutlery, only four knives, forks and spoons. We enjoyed our stay at La Grotta very much, it is a perfect hideaway!
