Stayed Apr 15, 2025Our six day stay at Seaside St John Villa was idyllic in every way. Its location in Haulover Bay gets you away from the crowd in Cruz Bay and into the serene vibe of island living. The luxurious pool and private beach were magnificent. The snorkeling was by far the best from our private beach retreat … and we sampled multiple alternative locations on St John. None could compare to the abundance of reef fish and sea turtles we encountered literally within steps of our villa. Shore fishing was likewise incomparable from our own “back yard”. We enjoyed fresh fish dinners at will. The villa itself was spacious and spectacular with its Mediterranean flair. Every room had a great view. The villa host, Michael, was attentive and accommodating to our every need. His gracious demeanor set a delightful tone for our stay. We rented jeeps on St Thomas and ferried to St John … the only way to go if you want to enjoy the north shore beaches for swimming, or the many hiking opportunities in the NP. Seaside St John Villa is simply the perfect vacation spot in the Caribbean.

Stayed Apr 5, 2025Our group of longtime friends (two families of four) absolutely loved staying here. Everything was top-notch, from the comfy furniture to the well-stocked kitchen to the idyllic outdoor showers. The pool was great, but the real attraction for us was having access to our own private beach and cove for swimming and snorkeling—what a treat! Views of the turquoise-blue waters never got old, and the gardens were gorgeous too. Michael, the host, was super responsive and friendly. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and hope to return someday!

Stayed Mar 28, 2025Seaside St. John is an amazing property. We loved that it was private with incredible views and direct access to some of the best snorkeling on the island. Michael our host was very responsive to our questions and worked hard to address any issues. The house was very well equipped and had plenty of room for our family including teenagers

Stayed Mar 1, 2025We have spent 20 years traveling to St John and this was the most amazing house and location to date! You literally don't need to leave the premises to thoroughly enjoy yourselves. There were 8 of us from 21-60 and we ALL agreed. If you do choose to leave the grounds (which we did) your are in close proximity to a great beach in Hanson Bay and fantastic snorkeling in Haulover Bay. Michael is great and made things really easy for us. He is responsive and always accessible. Can't recommend this place more highly. The pictures accurately reflect the house, but can't possibly capture the spectacular views. 10 out of 10!

Stayed Mar 30, 2024This was my first experience with a VRBO property and it couldn’t have been more positive. The property manager, Michael, was easy to work with, and very accommodating. The property itself was stunning! The 6 grandkids (all under 10) loved the pool with its waterfalls and grotto, and would have never come out if we hadn’t made them. Having access to Haulover Bay directly from the property meant some of the adults could snorkel while others stayed either the kids in the pool. The snorkeling was great! We basically had our own private coral reef and we saw multiple sea turtles every day. The villa gave us plenty of room for our group of 13 people and we could easily have just stayed on property all week and been content (but we did charter a catamaran one day and went hiking another). The property is located at the far east end of the island so make sure you have 4-wheel drive vehicles and realize it’s not convenient to go to Cruz Bay every day. We were looking for an isolated retreat, so it was perfect for us. The fact that we brought along a private chef made the experience even more fabulous.

Stayed Feb 14, 2024Our goal was to see as much of St John as possible. However, with such a beautiful house, amazing pool and perfect snorkeling beach we found it difficult to leave the property. Such a beautiful spot, such a wonderful vacation.

Stayed Dec 26, 2023The best things about this lovely property for our group were the absolutely stunning views over the water and access to North Haulover for water sports with the provided kayaks, paddle boards and snorkeling gear. It is spacious and thoughtfully provisioned — so many towels for bath, pool and beach! Our littles loved the books, games and toys. We used the gas grills nearly every evening. And we appreciated the two fridges and the ice maker. Things to be aware of: - WiFi was out more than not, and on this side of the island cell phones pick up towers in the BVI so an international plan is required and even then service is unpredictable. This didn’t present an urgent issue for our group on this trip over Christmas break, but we’d factor it in if staying during a busier work season. Streaming wasn’t an option for us. - the beautiful drive from the more populated side of the island takes a good thirty minutes and can be harrowing. Would not consider without a Jeep. We only made the drive twice after dark and that was enough for us! As others have noted, the property has so much to offer that we didn’t mind staying in most of the evenings, and we explored during the days. - the fifth bedroom suite is accessed from the outdoor pool area and doesn’t open to the rest of the house which could be a plus for a couple or a negative for a family with lots of kids. It’s a great space for a large group and the hosts were wonderful.

Stayed Nov 18, 2023Our family (8 adults, 1 toddler) stayed here over Thanksgiving 2023 and had a wonderful stay. Views are phenomenal; nice private bay / water access for paddle boarding / snorkeling. Outdoor living spaces are incredible; fabulous pool with lots of seating; 2 outdoor bars / grilling areas. Inside is spacious and bright / well lit with great views. We were first timers to St. John and a bit concerned on the location, but it is not an issue. You can stay at the home and be very comfortable, but easy access (about 10 minutes) to Coral Bay. The most popular beaches are 20 / 25 minute ride (we learned quickly that you have to drive to most everything in St. John). But, there is a very nice local beach only about 5 minutes away as well. We are an active family - did lots of hiking, snorkeling, swimming. Some of the best snorkeling was right in our bay at the house or at the nearby beach. Most importantly, we can't say enough about the host. Michael was extremely helpful from the time we booked until the time we left. He had great suggestions for traveling in, buying food, local restaurants, etc. That sounds minor, but for our family (4 adult couples and one toddler) traveling from 3 different locatilites, it was extremely helpful.
