Punta di Diamante - 200 Steps to Heaven

I stayed at their vacation rental in August of this year. The home is a million dollar home with a million dollar view. The steps up are a workout, and I needed to stop for a break along the way, but I made it up even as a 350lb guy. The host makes it easier by having a porter help bring your bags upon arrival (but not when you leave - so dont pack too much). The home is amazing - and have nothing negative to say about it at all. And the area in general is amazing, with amazing views and relaxing aura. The only negative I have is about the logistics of the area in general. Parking is scarce, and when you find a spot, you will have to trek from your spot up and down mountain roads until you get to your stair-climb up to the home. Do not rely on uberpublic transport, as when you order one it just says it may take a while, with no given time. There is a local bus though, but I wasnt there long enough to figure it out. And there is no uber eatsanyone to deliver stuff to your door. I would highly recommend this place, just plan accordingly, and you can relax in style...

This house is amazing. If you can physically do the 200+ steps multiple times a day, then you should absolutely stay in this house. The power never failed (like many of the places we have been in Europe), the AC works great, the house is spotless and has everything you could need including beach towels. In all of our travels, Francesco is the best host we have encountered. He was always available, so helpful and thoughtful. The only downside is that the internet does not work well, and the house does not have good cell coverage. If you are planning to work, I would reach out to SMAAC ahead of time about other internet options. We would definitely stay in this house again. work to improve the internet.

I would give it 4.5 stars. but gave 5 stars. The obvious is view, and the pool. But in general the house facilities and areas are great. Much larger groups could be hosted here (We were family of 5. 2+3). The 300 stairs are creating a very secluded experience. Great kitchen, we cooked every day. Great places with view for large family dinners. Great guidebook with a lot of information about everything. We will defiantly come back! - The freezer didn't work for the whole week and no maintenance. Which means no ice or ice creams! This was a huge downer for us. - There are ANTs everywhere, ask your host for refilling the anti ants spray. Spend time on cleaning everything or they will come. - WIFI had many issues due to the setup, required restart a few times a day. (modem-router + switch + 2 modems for wifi expansions) (The have high packet loss and disconnections...) - The stairs aren't that horrible, however, the local bus doesn't stop on 23 bus-stop unless you tell it to. which means you will have to walk down ~1,100 stairs on the way down. It was spacious and the grounds were well kept. We were not expecting to have a private pool. The views were spectacular.

Overall good experience but arranging for parking was more of hassle than it should have been

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Praiano, we hated to leave. The location and view of the house were indeed as described... including the 200 steps leading to the house. For those with weak legs be mindful of the task of accessing the house as it's certainly a trek up. My husband and I considered ourselves to be in great shape and walking up those steps kicked our ass each time, yet we thought it was brilliant. One should also keep in mind that the accessing the town below is also a little bit of a hike, but worth it. It was a great little town with good food and people. Loved it there!

We had a great experience!!! The communication with Francesco was pleasant and smooth at all times. The views are absolute breathtaking, my family and I had a great experience, I will definitely stay again!!

First the excellent. Views from this property are stunning, there are various viewpoints be that on one of the many balconiesperhaps from the pool, simply breathtaking. The properties location allowed us to spend time in the beautiful town of Praiano ( The property was clean, well maintained and comfortable. The challenge of course is the steps up to the property, if you are reasonably fit and injury free these shouldn’t be a problem. We always found the management company helpful and it was easy to communicate with them via WhatsApp, they always replied promptly. We often called upon them to organise taxis. Would overall recommend this property for a memorable trip.

We had a wonderful stay. The house was immaculate, the beds large and comfortable, the aircon worked perfectly. The house is large and has plenty of space The views from the house are amazing from the pool area, the balconies and even the bathroom ? The host Francesco was so helpful, arranging dinner reservations, providing information and links for local transport and ferries to tour the area. Yes there are many steps to the house but this is the Amalfi coast so what we expected and it kept us all fit and burnt off all those calories consumed. We all had a wonderful stay.

Host was very responsive and the place was overall nice. We enjoyed our time here but we had a few issues. - The stairs were steep and rough though. If it were just the 206 stairs from the street to the villa it probably would have been ok, but the entire area is essentially uphill. To get to the street the villa is even on from the Main Street, it’s 397 steep stairs. So from the Main Street to this villa is 600+ stairs. Your other option is walk the uphill winding roads, but it takes awhile. It is not easy to get on-the-fly transportation in this city. I would suggest renting scooters/vespas as it makes things easier, but we had a group of 7 and some weren’t comfortable driving them on the tight streets so it was tough. - Another issue we had was ants. There were a fair amount in the downstairs bedroom, as well as a ton near the pool. The lounge chairs weren’t usable as ants would always get you. - we had the shower drain drain too slowly in the main bathroom and flooded the floor

This property should not be allowed to the public. There are over 200 extremely steep steps to access this property and the majority of the steps do not have hand rails. We booked this property for five nights and had to check out after our third night. Our son was in a great deal of pain and could no longer make it up and down the steps. We informed the property manager and they refused to issue a credit for the remaining two nights that we didn’t use. We have a video of the steps leading up to the home should you wish to view. Francesco-SMAAC was the best host ever !!! He help with every arrangement for my large group from transportation from airport through arranging all of our tours. House was well equipped for a family with kids !! Views are beautiful. Just be prepared for the 200 steps to get to the lovely accommodations.

Lovely stay in Praiano - the beds were comfortable, the bathrooms solid, and the A/C was exactly what we wanted. Great for a longer stay. Hard to undersell the upper garden/patio/pool — amazing views of the coast from here, plenty of umbrellas and shade to shield you from the sun. The kitchen was well-stocked, albeit missing a better coffee-brewing option than a small French press. It’s a hike from the main road & amalfi coast bus line, but that’s what one should expect staying on amalfi coast. The stairs were well-maintained so simply a matter of physical condition — the bag porter service at check-in was complementary AND clutch. We really enjoyed our stay here and would recommend to others
