Penthouse Condo with Yacht Views!

My family really enjoyed our stay. The location and views were unbeatable. The host was very helpful and courteous. Prospective guests should note that the host does not provide coffee or coffee accessories, just a drip coffee machine and mugs. This is the 10th vacation rental I’ve stayed in in the last 6 years but the first to not provide coffee.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Two thumbs up for Palmetto Dunes staff and ZERO thumbs up for the building management. Our stay at Harborside 1 for the third year in a row was AWFUL!! The property is on the 4th floor. My wife and I are 76 and the elevator was an easy access to the condo. The interior of the property was excellent, with two internal floors for 3 families a comfortable place to vacation. HOWEVER: on day 2 of our vacation 9 people [our family and us] were trapped on the elevator in the sweltering heat. The Fire squad came [because we dialed 911 from our cell phones] and using ladders rescued us after 1 hour or entrapment. The emergency call button on the elevator was not working. The remainder of our seven day trip my wife and I were trapped on the 4th floor since the stairway was too strenuous for us. We discovered that the building manager was responsible for the elevator and not Palmetto Dunes from whom we rented the condo. We called and left messages for the building manager and ZERO calls were returned or status given to let us know if the elevator would be fixed before Saturday check-out day. We got through to the building manager on the day the fire department shut down the elevator and were told we should have rented a condo in Harborside II because it has two elevators instead of Harborside 1. **The owner of this condo should take note. The Palmetto Dunes staff were easily accessible and friendly, calling us many times trying to get the elevator fixed before Saturday checkout. Still, they received ZERO cooperation from the building manager. The Dunes staff even offered to send their employees over to help us move out if the elevator was not fixed by Saturday. This 5-star service is exemplary and much appreciated. The building manager gets a negative 10 stars for ignoring us as guests and never calling us back.This was such an awful experience we don’t plan on visiting Hilton Head again with our family.

I was told the master bed was very comfortable but the room i was in and my brother in law was in did not have a very comfortable bed and bed related items. Some better mattresses, pillows, and bedding would help.

The penthouse is pretty, clean, and is conveniently located to all SC restaurants,stores, and Outside HH boat tours. You can even see the King Neptune statue/sundial from the balcony!

The first floor bathroom was not clean, also dusty furniture , dinning room chair broken, light bulb was replaced in guest bedroom during our stay, furniture very outdated, rug In kitchen needs to be cleaned. Also - quest bathroom first floor- needs grout replaced in bathtub to avoid leaks in the future. I still would recommend property because of location and if cleaned well.

The air con worked really well. The beds were not comfortable. One dining room chair had a broken leg and we found out when my son sat on it. There were 5 forks. The shower in one of the guest rooms didn’t work well. Furniture on the balcony was wobbly and missing the stoppers on the bottom and had no cushions. These were small things that should have been addressed before we arrived. The location was excellent though. Beautiful sunsets from the balcony.

We had friends with us the first part of the week & adult children the latter part of week. Everyone enjoyed the condo, location & the food. Very spacious condo.
