Stayed May 24, 2023Our stay at Patrizia’s vacation home was amazing. We were in town for our friends’ wedding and the location was perfect. Patrizia, her son Camillo, and Nana, Maria, were outstanding hosts. We arrived to several complimentary bottles of vino from their winery as well as homemade pizza, banana bread and more. This was just the icing on the cake! The home was clean, spacious and had all the ‘extras’ that we needed for a relaxing stay (bicycles, pool, etc). The only important thing to note for anyone looking to stay here: if you don’t have a car, make sure to arrange taxis before your arrival as we spent quite a bit of time searching for drivers to pick us up and take us where we needed to go (i.e. wedding). Oh, Patrizia also offered to cook our group of 12 a meal on our last night (extra charge). If she offers, take her up on this. It was the highlight of our trip… aside from the wedding of course :).

Stayed Dec 21, 2019We just completed an amazing Christmas vacation at Nido del Merlo! This was a truly a special vacation made even more special by our amazing host Patricio. She warmly greeted us on arrival, and really made us feel welcome and comfortable. The villa was perfectly appointed with sweets, cakes, and fruit etc which really made the perfect home for our Christmas celebration with two families. The bedrooms were roomy, and the grounds, & views from the villa were simply amazing. The location was very central to the Tuscany region, and allowed us to make many day trips throughout the region. This is a special place, and I hope you enjoy it as much as we did.

Stayed Jul 3, 2019It may be an issue to get there via google maps, but read the suggested direction as detailed in the communication once google maps got you to the closest point. The location of the house is great, you're basically viewing this valley with grapes and olive trees and San Gimignano, which is just letting you relax. The house does not offer AC but it's possible to manage as the weather in the area should not be as hot, and there's breeze when all windows are opened. It has beautiful pool to cool in, seating areas to drink wine/coffee, the owner are very helpful and will verify every once in a while that you have all that you need. They did treat us with bottle of wine and olive oil that they produce from their own grapes and olives as well as fruits and baked goods that they baked at home. overall we felt very welcomed and relaxed. been there for 7 days, and I wish we could have stayed additional 7 days :-) highly recommended, come with English/Italian translator to use when needed as in Italy not many people speak English and with the house owners it's needed. The Food, Wine and Gellato are the best it was a treat to visit Italy.

Stayed Jun 4, 2019The property location is ideal. Ten minutes from San Gimignano, with full view of the city. Views from every bedroom! Couldn't have asked for better hosts. They checked in with us every day and surprised us with baked goodies and homemade meals. You are truly staying in the Italian countryside complete with chickens and rooster. The indoor communal area is limited to kitchen, so know that you will be gathering outdoors. Be sure to book a bike tour, it was one of the highlights of our week and make reservations for wine tasting!
