Nice Two Bedroom Villa Located on the George Fazio Golf Course!

It was close to the ocean and a short bike ride to Shelter Cove. We had a small problem and it was settled quickly by the PD staff who were friendly and very helpful.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house has good golf course views and was very clean on arrival. The beds are comfy and the kitchen appliances are excellent. The kitchen has been refurbished since our last visit but someone had placed a plug in air freshener under the main wall cupboard which had tainted the wood of the cupboard and all the contents had a most unpleasant smell and taste. I relocated the plug in to a more appropriate spot. There is a laundry room which unfortunately has taken away most of the closet space in one bedroom. There is a lack of drawer space in the other bedroom. The house needs blinds on the living room windows for a more homely feel. These are minor criticisms and I have already booked the property for a return visit. The communal pool is excellent and the location overrides these minor points

Reviewer Comments: Overall we are happy with Palmetto Dunes as a place to come and play tennis. There were a number of issues this time that were troubling. There was a very large Pickle Ball tournament happening the entire time we were staying as well as a golf tournament. In addition to the added traffic and parking difficulty, the tennis - pickleball area was very crowded with people. With COVID still a concern this was not comfortable. It would have been very helpful to have been told about these events when planning our trip. We could have planned a different week.Also, the tennis center no longer provides towels. With the high humidity, towels are essential when playing tennis. If we had know we could have prepared.During our prior visit we asked and were approved for a late checkout. When we arrived at our condo, the key code had been changed. It took 40 minutes to get someone to let us in causing a great deal of stress because I had a flight to catch.This time we also requested a late checkout because we were playing tennis the morning of our departure and needed to shower and pack. After speaking to a manager, this was approved. Again, when returning to our condo the keycode did not work. Fortunately one call and the person was able to give us a code over the phone and get us in. She also informed us that someone should have provided the code when the late check out was approved.When we met our tennis pro for a semi private lesson, we learned that he was just returning from sick leave due to COVID - again, we should have been informed and given the opportunity to make a choice or change pros before we arrived.The condo seemed to be in need of repair and cleaning. Clearly the most recent painting was fast and sloppy. The deck and furniture were very dirty and in serious need of power washing. The shower did not drain well. All relatively minor items, but a pattern that is not encouraging.

Close to everything you need via bike or walk. Unit was generally in good shape if not a little worn. Kitchen was a little disappointing. No staples like salt, pepper, etc. No ice trays (the ice maker in the freezer is not hooked up). We bought ice trays and left them there for you. Outside of the unit needs a good cleaning. First night there the golf course sprinklers pounded the condo at 5 am. Didn't happen the rest of week. Not sure if that was because we complained about it or because it rained a few days and they didn't turn them on. Had a couple Palmetto bugs in the unit but I think that comes with the territory. The Welcoming Center folks were very friendly but we did not get a response to our complaints.

There was no blanket for the twin beds so had to purchase them. Tge ubit had very dirty windows obstructing the view of the beautiful golf course. The patio table ob the deck as well as the deck were also very dirty. The unit was buggier than it should have been. But the worst part of the rental was the rental company, Palmetto Dunes. At time of booking, I had requested an early check in. Check in date was on a Wednesday so it had been vacant since at least the prior Sat. I received no reply about early check in so asked when we arrived at 12pm. The request was denied. I asked if we could at least go retreive our beach chairs and bikes that had been delivered and that request was also denied. We weren't allowed to enter until after 3pm. Where was the southern hospitality? Not a nice start to our vacation. We were happy to move on to our beach front rental in Palmetto Dunes which was done through a different management company which provided great consideration of our needs.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was our first time renting a property at Palmetto Dunes, and it will likely not be the last. Staying in the villa was far superior to staying in the Marriott hotel, even if we didn’t have ocean view. Our villa was equipped with everything we needed, was clean, and had an amazing location right on the golf course. It was an easy 3 minute drive to the beach, where we always had plenty of parking space at the Dunes House. The villa was clean and we lacked nothing, but the place could use some updating. The floors upstairs, the washer and dryer, and the cabinets doors are all really squeaky. The mattress in the bedroom not of the best quality either. Overall, these were not enough to spoil our vacation, because we only had people sleeping upstairs for 3 nights, but for future family travels I would likely look into a more updated unit in the resort. The staff was also really great! We had been previously at other similar resort properties and were met by dull unhappy customer service representatives who were quick to point out the list of our responsibilities rather than privileges of being there. NOT HERE at Palmetto Dunes!! The front desk staff was super kind and cheerful offering a really speedy check in, welcoming us with 4 discount cards to the resort amenities and kingly reminding us to put the dirty dishes in the dishwasher at our departure. No other rules and regulations!! It was great!!We will sure come back to Palmetto Dunes, God’s willing!

I particularly appreciated the excellent communication through text and hospitality app. We had a few minor problems with the Villa which were addressed and solved in a very timely manner. The Villa was very clean and well equipped. Pickelball instructors and complex were awesome as well. A really relaxed and enjoyable time spent at Palmetto Dunes Resort.

We loved this villa! The view from the balcony onto the golf course was beautiful. The he location couldn’t be better. Highly recommend.
