This property is located in a quiet area, just 200m from a lovely sandy beach. Beach is small initially but you can walk up the beach for some distance past the hotels if needed for space and the house has a sun umbrella and mats for use. There is a resturant and waterside bar in walking distance and a shop which is well stocked. If you want to eat out on a Saturday night you will need to book. Unfortunately we were a little disappointed with the property overall. It is spacious but as a previous review mentioned some things are outdated and have been fixed with temporary solutions. It is in need of some updating and repairs, such as the broken blind in the en suite bathroom which we were unable to use when the light was on as the neighbours behind could see straight in. There was a refuse collection schedule which was quite specific and not really what we wanted to be doing on our holidays which involved us emptying the house kitchen bin of the previous tenants. We also felt that the cleaning could have been more thorough in areas particularly as a cleaning fee is charge when booking. Overall we felt this property wasn't good value for money but with some updates and a little TLC it could be.
The apartment is nice. Some things are a little outdated and have been fixed with temporary solutions, but overall things work as expected. Kitchen is well stocked, although a microwave oven would be nice. There is really no beach to speak of accessible to the public that can be reached on foot, but there are wonderful beaches a few miles away. There is really not much around the property that can be entertaining for visitors. A couple of nearby high-end hotels could be a good resource but they do not allow non-guests to access their beaches or sometime even their restaurants. A car is pretty much a requirement to enjoy this rental. The two hosts, Franco and Angelica, are really what makes this property special. They went way beyond their call for duty to address any questions we had, and even invited us for an aperitivo at their home that turned into a sort of dinner! Highly recommended.
We stayed at this property end of August beginning of September - two families - with x4 adults and x3 children - 7 -10 years old - Angelica and Franco were such great hosts - they picked us up from the airport, showed us around and made sure we knew where the local shop was - the beaches, the local restaurant, bus stops etc.. it was a great place and excellent location - it had everything we needed - it was a much more spacious property than I had thought from the photos. It had air conditioning, room to eat in the small back garden, A bbq, 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, washing machine etc. There is a small Work top oven - but x4 hobs and is well equipped to make meals at home. We would definitely go back. Anything we needed assistance with or help at the house Angelica and Franco addressed straight away. Even lending us a bike to cycle to the local shop and umbrellas for the beach. It’s a beautiful part of the world and the house is very convenient to visit all the surrounding countryside and beaches.
Great space, good location and splendid hosts. Would benefit if an electric kettle or stove top kettle available. Unable to use outside space due to mosquitos but all in all a good base for exploring.
We had a very warm welcome by Angelica and franco who were totally at our disposal. great welcome and the house was perfect four our family (2 kids 3 and 5 years old) I really recommand this home
We were 5 personer from Sweden, 3 adults, 2 children 5 and 3 years old. We spent two weeks in this wonderful place. The hosts were very friendly and helpful, they gave us several good advices were to go and met us with an evening snack as we arrived late at night. There is plenty of room in the house and everything was clean and fresh. In the back yard there was a grill that we used a lot. It is walking distance to the local market and a small beach. If you take the car it takes 5 minutes to a bigger and better beach, were they also have snackbars. We had a wonderful time and we hope to come back some day. Enjoy your trip
Very confortable house in Maristella, close to Alghero. A very good place to visit all noth-west of the island. Fantastic beaches, some of them with an amazing low number of people in the middle of the summer. Franco and Angelica are very kindly and provide all type of suggestions on the zone, as well as a fantastic bottle of wine !!. Very recomendable for families.
Really nice town house with three spacious bedrooms, nice and functional furnishings. Quite small garden. Conveniently close to airport and Alghero. Perfect for exploring north west corner of Sardinia! Very friendly hosts, living next door. Angelica always replied quickly on mail and sms. She gave us information on a traditional feast in Alghero. She helped me print the boarding cards, saving me lots of time. Best regards, Åsa, Sanna and Tove, Sweden ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
For our 20 year wedding anniversary me and my wife, together with another family of friends, decided to visit Sardegna. Our goal was to rent a car and sink into the local atmosphere, explore the beautiful island, relax, and, as enthusiastic fishermen, maybe catch a some local fish. We chose this house because of its comfortable location - close to the airport and the sea, but away from the hassle of the city and because of the good reviews it had. And we did not go wrong. A wonderful house, just 10 minutes away with car from the beautiful city Alghero with its long beaches, at a quiet and secluded place, with space for parking. The perfect words to describe it: Style and comfort. The house is furnitured with style and is well looked after. The bathrooms are clean and spacious and the beds are soft and comfortable, as if you were at home. In May there are no mosquitoes, the weather is warm enough to walk around in t-shirts and if you are brave enough - to take a swim in the calm sea. If you decide to make your own dinner and have a calm evening in the small, but incredibly cozy inner court you have a barbecue at your disposal and the kitchen is fully equipped and contains the basic things for your daily needs. Those are things that you will probably find in most places in Sardegna. The thing that makes this place so special are the people who will welcome you. Angelika and Franko are simply one of a kind. They are the embodiment of the best things in the Italian character. The things they did for us were way beyond their responsibilities. When we arrived at the house there was a wonderful homemade cake waiting for us in the fridge, with two candles on it, together with a bottle of champagne. On the first day Franko showed us the surrounding area along with the park with great places for walks and fishing, the restaurant and the shop. He also showed us the beautiful secluded small beaches with corals scattered along the beach, with which we fell in love with at first sight. The note they wrote to invite us to dinner two days later surprised and moved us. The traditional and mouth-watering Italian dishes Angelika made us together with homemade wine and liquoir and, of coarse, the piano Franko played on like a god, were out of this world. Thank you, Angelika and Franko, that you made our stay so special! We are looking forward to our next meeting- on a ski vacation in Bulgaria or again in the summer in Sardegna. My husband and two children (ages nearly 5 and 8) had a lovely stay at this property for 10 days in October. I copied this bit from another poster but it is totally accurate in our case as well: The property was accurately described with very comfortable bedrooms, plenty of clean linen and towels and nice decoration. Everything in the villa was clean, well-maintained and in working order. The villa was located in a quiet community within short walking distance of a well-stocked market shop. It was within a 5 minute drive of a couple of lovely sandy beaches (Bombarde and Lazaretto) or a comfortable bike ride. The owner is extremely friendly and gave outstanding customer service with nothing too much trouble. There is a lovely drive around Porte Conte Bay to Cappo Caccia where the stunning calcified Neptune Caves can be visited (600 odd steps down ..and back up..if you don't use the boat!). All in all we had a very comfortable stay and fully recommend the property. I would add that Franco and Angelica were fantastic hosts, as we found a kitchen full of homemade wine, foods and provisions for the morning, which was lovely given our late hour of arrival. Franco and Angelica greeted us personally on arrival. They didn't seem to mind my noisy boys at all, which was very kind as I'm sure they made quite a racket! Maristella is sleepy and could use a litter pick but it was a good location for the local beaches and Alghero. There is a playground in the hotel around the corner and we brought the boys over one afternoon without reprisal. We drove to the Costa Smeralda for a day trip - 2.5 hours each way but very scenic and we stopped a lot. The property is comfortable and very homey and it's great having a washing machine, dishwasher etc for the stay. I would caution that there is a space at the top of the stairs which is a bit exposed for small, unattended children. Franco and Angelica coped well with our very broken Italian and gave us many great ideas about how to enjoy our trip.
