Positives: Great area View Nice Outdoor area Pool. Negatives: No pack containing information. Contacts etc: Poor welcome from property host. Late arriving. Sped round the villa whilst smoking a cigarette and told us all the things we could not do. Told if we broke the patio door it would cost 500 euros to repair. Shared toilet in main villa did not flush Numerous plug sockets did not work. a/c controller for one bedroom not working. Both rooms had to share. 1 electronic fob for main gates did not work. Inadvertently left both sets of keys for the lower apartment in in the apartment on first day. Texted twice for help and then phoned. No answer. Messaged owner. Phoned again. Host finally turned up and said he did not have a spare set of keys and he would have to get a locksmith. I said that I did not believe that he did not have a master or pass key. He left and said he would call to say what was happening. No call. Finally came with a key around 21:30. Said he had to drive to Valencia for keys. When he arrived for check out he said he would check the property. No feedback or opportunity to discuss or highlight problems. He left the property without speaking to us again. Our overall impression was one of disappointment.
The outside of this villa is its crowning glory Lovely pool overlooking the sea lots of seating and children's bits for pool. The drive up the villas drive is very testing and a BMW will not make it. The area underneath is disappointing with one toilet very smelly and a bit of mould and could do with fridge down there. Air con in main room not working. Could do with a welcome book. But saying that we had a fabulous holiday.
3 bedroom villa with 2 bedroom annexe newly refurbished bathrooms throughout and great a/c in all bedrooms. Pool area and outside sitting/dining area superb and on same level as pool. Infinity pool excellent and suitable for small children. Great views. El Portet beach is small and crowded. No parasols or loungers so bring your own. We bought some beach chairs and left at the property. Few places to eat during the day. Book “le Dauphin” well in advance for a special meal. Just. 5 min walk away. Overall a great holiday villa. Hire a manual car so you can get it up the driveway into the property
I would currently only recommend the upstairs 3 bedroom Villa. As the downstairs 2 bedroom annex has a damp problem. This property could be absolutely amazing. The views are spectacular and El Portet small beach is perfect for children. (Villa not suitable for under 3’s due to open internal & external steps) We had a few issues with heating for pool - I only gave 2 days notice and after 4 days pool was still not heating up and when asked if we could have air con put on, there were not enough working batteries for all of the controllers. Owner did come with some new batteries 2 days before we left. But the major issue was SEVERE DAMP Unfortunately the two bedrooms that are situated in a separate annex below the main Villa, is severely damp. As soon as the door to the property was opened you could smell the damp. In the smallest bedroom, there was a huge area of paint that could visibly be seen, that had bubbled and cracked but the owner said this was a paint problem. After several days, our clothes became very damp as did the bed mattresses. On pulling one of the beds away from the wall we discovered green/black mould in the corner and running up and along the wall. We contacted owner, who felt our clothes and said this was due to moisture. However, when I showed him the pulled out bed and green/black mould on the walls, he seemed shocked. We asked him for a mattress to put upstairs for the last few nights but he said he didn’t have any. He said the property was fully booked until the end of the season and so what he would do once we left, was seal all the walls and paintwork with special paint and then do some major repair work in September - namely remove a tree and flower bed from outside on the adjacent wall, which he thinks is the cause of the problem. Once the damp is fixed, I would recommend this property, until then I would only recommend the upstairs 3 bedroom Villa.
The pictures on the website do not begin to reveal the beauty of this place. The infinity pool overlooking the sea is magnificent. A wonderful way to wake up in the morning. The house is beautiful, clean, snd well appointed. The hosts were responsive and promptly took care of our needs while we were there. The beach is beautiful and truly a 5 min walk. There are many.nice waterfront restaurants also a five minute walk away. We hope to return here again. Thank you!!
This is a great property to rent. Lots of space, inside and out and has excellent facilities. The main shower room has the best view in town.
We stayed at the Villa last week and had horrible weather at the end of the week. The Villa is well set out so even though the weather was bad, we managed to sit outside and enjoy the views. There are a variety of areas to sit and eat . The views are excellent. The pool was too cold for our liking - even though it was solar heated. We wished we had paid extra for the pool heating. The kitchen is very well equipped. The driveway is a nightmare - it is very steep and the top section is damaged. We found it difficult to turn a car around and reversing was tricky because of the steepness of the entrance to the driveway. Fortunately besides some grocery shopping, it was not necessary to use the car often. The nearby Oasis Restaurant was great (walking distance). It's an easy walk down to the beach - and three of us are over 70 years of age. It's a pleasant walk into Moraira where you are spoilt for choice of restaurants. (If you don't want to walk there is a little train you can use). We liked the beach at El Portet. There is a chemist close by as well as a small shop with some basics and fresh bread. We were disappointed with the BBQ area - it's inside the laundry and we did not use it. Despite the couple of negatives, we were very satisfied with the Villa and it's location.
Beautiful Villa, in a great location just a few mins walk to El Portet beach! This is our 4th time visiting El Portet and this villa was the best yet! It was extremely clean and check in was simple (if not a little later in the day 4pm than others)! The kitchen was well equipped and lots of outdoor seating areas! It’s a lovely walk into Moraira just 1.6kms away! When we rang Juan with a query he was there very promptly. A welcome pack would be nice with the few essentials, water, juice, bread etc Overall we would highly recommend this property and are looking forward to visiting again!
The property was as described and well-equipped. Beautiful views across the bay towards Calpe. We missed an information book as there was a lot to remember about the house and no information on local restaurants etc. Also, no information about rubbish/recycling. The steep drive from the entry gate to the house was difficult for elderly members of the family.
The villa worths it! I went with my family and friends this summer and we had an amazing time. It has a beautiful view. Having breakfast early in the morning watching the sunrise in one of its terraces is a complete pleasure. The sand beach, which is literally 2 minutes far from the villa, is perfect for swimming and snorkeling. Great hosts. Definitely I will stay here again.
