Massanutten Treehouse Escape with Decks, Firepit & Steps to the Resort

Great place to stay, very accommodating. We have 5 children, and it was plenty of room for them and visitors. Happy to see a baby gate available also. very clean and comfortable stay.

We spent a girls weekend at the house. The house was fine for what we needed, although it sure would be nice to have a half bathroom upstairs for those of us not getting any younger!The coffee pot would not work…we contacted the owners, but never received a reply.

The Tree Top Home was so very nice and cozy. I love the mountain view from the deck. This home was so cozy and welcoming. Everything you need was right there and it was close to stores and restaurants whatever you wish to visit. More than likely I will definitely be booking the Tree Top Home again. I will also be sharing the experience with family and friends. 10/10 for sure.

It was our first trip since 2019 and were really excited. When we arrived around 4:30-5 pm and went inside ourfirst impression was that it was very nice. Shortly after, we noticed the some unsanitary conditions. There was a blood stain in the middle room on the blanket then when we went into the primary room there was a stained blotch (which looked like dried blood) so we decided to sleep on the couch, My daughter (12) pointed out we had no privacy since there was no blind in the kitchen over the sink, no blinds on the sliding glass door and we were really close to the slopes so we moved the bar stools in front of the sliding doors and put a blanket over them to get as much privacy as we could. Other people have had the same concern. I noticed there was tape in the corners where others had the same concerns. The handrails leading downstairs were filthy. I'm sorry, there is no other way to put it. I used about half a container of Lysol wipes to try and clean them. The primary bathroom had vomit drips on the wall in front of the toilet. That was also quite gross. The door handle was very jiggly, and we thought we were alone there so I put a chair under the handle to help my daughter and myself feel more safe. I read about about the issues with internet service and read it was addressed but the connection was terrible and she had to use my hotspot.

The house was very clean and had everything we needed. We loved the decor and the location. The host got back to us very quickly when we reached out with any questions. We would definitely stay here again.

Very accomodating and communicative. We would have preferred black out curtains or blinds in the master bedroom. We are late sleepers and the sheers didn’t allow for that. However, the place was very clean and pet friendly, which was a huge bonus! It is a short walk to the slopes and we had a great time. Plan to come back for sure.

Condo was clean and very comfortable. Kitchen was well stocked and beds were comfortable. The only recommendation I would have is to have a place to store skis when not on the slopes. The closet outside the front door would be ideal. Overall great location and we would stay again

We had a wonderful long weekend at this property. We are repeat guests and love the location and the coziness of this home. The furniture is comfortable, it has a nice kitchen where we cooked all of our meals, and the views are great! We really like the ability to walk down the street and onto the slopes. It sure beats having to drive down to the ski area and find a place to park. At the end of the day, or for a break, it's a quick walk back. We are looking forward to saying here again next year.

Highly enjoyed our stay, though the Internet did not work, which was somewhat of a good thing because we were able to bond a little better as a family.

The home met our needs and worked well for our stay. The upstairs was a nice open space for our group to gather, while the lower level had three bedrooms and two bathrooms. The bathrooms were on the smaller side, but functional.The location is a big plus, with easy walking access to the ski lift. A few updates, such as blackout curtains, pillows, and warm comforters, would make the space even better. Better internet connectivity. Overall, it was a comfortable stay and a convenient base for enjoying the mountain, but for the price tag, you could shop around for nicer units nearby.

This is a nice property in a great location. It's very clean and has everything you need to enjoy a great stay. We really liked the porches and were able to grill out and enjoy the view. The added bonus of being able to use the Owner's pool pass was great, especially because we visited during a heat wave! And the entertainment area with mini-golf, go-karts and bumper cars is fun. We all enjoyed our stay.

We stayed at this property for a long weekend with our kids, and it was a wonderful experience. Check‑in was quick and easy, and the communication from the owners was both welcoming and informative. The home’s location was excellent, with convenient access to everything Massanutten has to offer. We really appreciated the thoughtful touches—fresh linens, towels, and a well‑stocked kitchen—which made packing so much easier. The shower water pressure was on the lighter side, but that’s likely due to the area’s water system rather than the property itself. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would gladly book here again.

This was the perfect little getaway for our family of 6 plus our dog! The house was cozy, clean, and well stocked. We had enough room for our kids to have their own space and our own very spacious master suite. The decks are great for sipping coffee and watching the wildlife. The kids loved all the deer! We were able to cook and prepare meals in the kitchen and also grilled on the deck. We went tubing, played at the water park, went hiking, rock climbing, ropes course, gem mining, and also drove to Luray Caverns! Such a fun action packed summer trip for our family. It felt like a secret getaway and the resort was not too crowded. The host also gives you access to the pool which was clean and not too busy. We would love to come back in the winter. Highly recommend!

Lovely property and location near the masanutten resort, waterpark, and Shenandoah! Communication was excellent and look forward to another stat!

This was the perfect property for my family. We had a great time hiking, riding go carts, playing mini golf and riding horses. I would highly recommend it. I would also not miss Woodfiredco pizza in Elkton while staying here.

Check in was smooth, location was great! 5 minute drive to the ski lodge or a minute walk to the slope. House was clean.

We enjoyed our time skiing, tubing, ice skating, and at the water park. This property was close to everything. Skiing access was at the end of the road, about 300ish yards. The wood burning fireplace was a big plus during our snowy, cold trip.

Communication was flawless from booking to checkout, condo was clean, and everything was comfortable after a long day of snowboarding.

Super Host.

We came to see the color turning of the leaves. The place was comfortable and quiet and well stocked with all we needed and then some. Everything was set up to relax and enjoy. It was located close to many historical sites and the skyline drive! Lots of delicious restaurants nearby.

This was the perfect location for our recent trip to Harrisonburg. The condo was more comfortable and more reasonably priced than a hotel closer to JMU. The host was very open with communication and expectations, and checked in to make sure everything was good. We would stay here again. The only small downside was the twin beds and pillows were not that comfortable for two adults, but we knew what we had signed up for!

The Tree Top home was exactly as described! It was in a great location on the resort. We had easy access to the house and surrounding property. The kitchen was well stocked with cooking utensils and all of the basics needed to get started before having to get to the grocery store! The master, king bed was very comfortable. Although only 2 adults stayed at the house, we had plenty of room for the rest of our family (6 additional) to spend time, cook and enjoy dinners. The host checked in with us just enough to make sure everything was ok and offer assistance if needed. We will definitely look to rent again when at Massanutten!

My family and I had the most wonderful stay at this cozy home near Shenandoah National Park! The cabin was charming and had all the comforts of home. The proximity to the park made it easy to explore the beautiful trails and take in the stunning views. The hosts were responsive, ensuring everything was perfect for our stay. Highly recommend this home!

Quiet location. On site activities.

Stay was nice and weather perfect. Condo needs some updating such as new mattresses in both guest rooms. Couch upstairs is pretty shot. The deck and furniture need a power washing.

We've stayed at a lot of properties in our life and they all have pros and cons. Some of the cons on this property need addressed. We tend to cook meals when away and eat out a few times. It always seems like rental properties assume no one cooks at the property-lol. The cookware was pretty rough, unless you enjoy badly peeling teflon in your food you should bring a pan or two. The owners should buy a $300 set of METAL cookware and if someone steals a pan, keep the $500 deposit. That's a win. Glassware: Buy some 20 oz glassware. There's like 8 glasses total. Everything else is a tiny juice glass or stemware. (or buy 20 oz picnic acrylic.. whatever). There is part of the sectional in the living room that is basically un-usable because the cushions have no cushion left... you just fall into the couch where the couch pulls out. But the biggest issue we had were the smells. We walked in and it smelled like moth balls and something ... like an oily smell - super weird and strong. Downstairs master bath was mildew heaven, BUT it wasn't visible anywhere. It shares a wall with the washer/dryer so I am not sure where the moisture was coming from but it permeated the downstairs. Maybe there was water damage at some point that wasn't addressed correctly, or they just need a dehumidifier going, but there's something up. Carpeting as noted in other reviews is MEH at this point. PROS: Layout, location over tubing hill, deck and beds! Fun fire pit!

We had a wonderful getaway in this cozy treetop home in Massanutten. It was our first visit to the area, but with a daughter about to go to college nearby, we hope to go back often! Thanks to the owners for great communication before, during, and after our stay. We had everything we needed in the kitchen, bathrooms, rooms, etc. plus board games, a gas firepit on the porch, info about local attractions and how to access the pool, etc. Our ten-year-old enjoyed the waterpark, pool, go-karts and minigolf. Our older teens enjoyed the cute coffee shop just outside the resort in McGaheyville, fruit picking at a nearby farm in Cross Keys, and the Green Valley Book Fair in Mt. Crawford. We took a quick drive to Shenandoah National Park to hike to South River Falls to finish off our stay. There is currently construction on the ski lift nearby the house, but I'm sure that'll be done and ready to go for winter guests who want to enjoy the slopes. This was a great fit for our family of six!

Overall, our stay was exceptional we highly recommend it. If you're looking for a comfortable, convenient, and well-maintained vacation rental in Massanutten, this is the place to be. Lots of activities to choose from the resort at and comfortable accommodations. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again!
