Superb villa! Very well located with a gorgeous view overlooking the Grand Anse d'Arlet cove. Very clean and functional house, Very well furnished and decorated! Ideal location for a stay on the island. Very short walk across the street to access on of Martinique's beach beaches with snorkeling from the shore. Definitively recommend it and hope to go back there very soon! Special thanks to Cécile, the caretaker, who prepared for us a wonderful Caribbean dinner and helped us out throughout our stay!
We had the most wonderful trip to Martinique, our first trip to the island but it will not be our last. So much of the enjoyment of our trip was our residence in this beautiful property and we will definitely come back again. The house in located on a hill overlooking Grande Anse, with a view over the bay and out to the sea. There are many places around the home to sit and enjoy the view and the breeze. A dining cabana is surrounded by flowers that are often visited by hummingbirds. The pool is small but perfectly situated and designed for luxurious dipping/cooling off. The open area plan, and various sundeck areas gave everyone in our family opportunity to commune, or steal away for quiet and privacy. The house is beautifully appointed, the kitchen as well, We most often stayed in for our meals and the kitchen was stocked with all of the necessary items for cooking at home. There are markets nearby in Petite Anse, and a carrefour market in Iles Troilet to grab your staples - in our case lots of jambon, baguettes, the tomatoes on the island are incredibly flavorful, and i have to say the rotisserie chicken from the carrefour may be the best I have ever had! There is a creperie a short walk from the property, operated by a local family on the weekends, we returned several times for the delicious crepes, both sweet and savory, and they had fresh juices as well. We spent a day snorkeling and for lunch at Anse Noir and a morning at Les Salines, but seriously, nothing compared to being home in the quiet, in perfect weather and reading, napping on the open verandah with Bossa Nova playing in the background. The snorkeling along the rocky side of grand Anse was some of the best we have ever seen. This home is the product of some very thoughtful and tasteful design. We did not venture far often, we felt we were pretty much in a private paradise. The house is situated at the top of a steep driveway and it would not be an ideal location for an elderly person to get back and forth to the beach - so when we return that is the perfect excuse NOT to take my mother in law! We were greeted by polite and helpful Cecile, and we had nothing but pleasant and efficient interactions with the owner. Highly recommended, lovely , lovely place.
