Stayed Dec 31, 1969Arrived at Faro airport, collected a hire car and followed the very clear and concise directions provided by Alison and Dan with no problems! Great start to our holiday! Upon arrival at the villa, we were welcomed by Miguel who proceeded to show us around and go through the necessary information. Our first impression was great, a very spacious and clean villa with everything we needed for our stay. The outside area and pool made it extra special. Being able to wake up to a view of the pool followed by breakfast outside with blue sky and sunshine every morning was just the best! Carvoeiro is a lovely town with some beautiful beaches and a good selection of restaurants, bars and shops. We enjoyed walking into the town along the Estrada do Paraiso and saw some beautiful sunsets on our evening walks. The board walk to Algar Seco provided amazing views of the coastline and interesting rock formations. Ferragudo is another small resort worth visiting with two very different beaches to explore. Highly recommend this villa and hope to return for another relaxing holiday.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969We just got back from our holiday in Carvoeiro. Casa Castelinho was perfect for our group of 8 friends (aged 30-33). The house was bigger than we imagined and the stay would not have been as amazing without the pool, bbq and rooftop terrace. I cannot recommend this villa enough! Every bedroom has its own bathroom which is great. There's also an extra toilet with its own shortcut to the pool area, so you don't have to make a mess through the whole house when you're soaking wet and need to go to the bathroom. Sadly we only realized this on the last day of our stay :) There's also an outdoor shower for anyone who can't live without that amenity. What else can i say? Miguel was friendly, the cleaning ladies where really sweet, the gardeners were efficient, hardly noticed them. The place was nice and clean. Loved it! We did not have a rental car during our week and we managed just fine. We easily walked down to Carvoeiro. Some of us easily walked back up others took a taxi(4-5€). I did read previous comments about the steep descent/climb to/from Carvoeiro, but it was WAY steeper than i thought.:) As I said though, taxis are cheap and well worth the money if you don't want to break a sweat on your holiday. Out of the 2 easiest routes to walk Rampa Mato Serrao is steeper, but more shaded because of the surrounding trees, while R. do Escondidinho is not as steep, but more exposed to the sun and heat. We did our main grocery shopping at the Intermarché and we got there by taxi/uber. No problem whatsoever. Smaller stuff or something we might have forgotten we just got in the smaller markets in the center of Carvoeiro. All in all a great holiday. I'd go back and do it again any day every day!

Stayed Dec 31, 1969This is a very well equipped and maintained villa. On arrival a generous welcome pack greeted us. Miguel and his staff are on hand to sort out any problems and keep the villa clean. A short 15 minute walk downhill takes you to the centre of Carvoiero where there are many nice restaurants. Primavera, Oasis and Taste three of our favourites. Best to take taxi home though (9euros for a 6 seater). Within 2 minutes walking distance you will find L'orange, which serves lovely food, and our favourite Vila Nova which provides good value for money and pleasant surroundings. Sand sculptures are a must to visit. For a fun day out for adults and children a trip to the crazy golf in Vilamoura is worthwhile. Potimao, Albuferia and Monchique other good days out.
