Historic Residence Casal Paterno for 20 people with private pool, AC and WiFi

Property is nothing like the pictures. There is no hot tub as represented. Certain doors and windows do not lock allowing outside access which is a security concern if you are leaving items on the property. AC is only in the bedrooms so cannot sit in a common area during the day because of heat. The house has bugs in several rooms and while the property is “historically” nice it needs attention for it to be represented as qualifying rental. To be accurate, our group stayed one night and we vacated the property. This review is only to make sure future renters know what they are paying for.

My family's stay in Casal Paterno was absolutely great. Giovanni was extremely helpful and responsive with check-in and small maintenance issues that arose from our stay. Mercedes (owner) was extremely responsive in communication before our trip, and helpful with organizing logistics of our arrival. Our stay in Alghero was during one of the hottest weeks of the year, and the pool was extremely refreshing. The house was plenty big for our family. An excellent vacation overall, thanks to Giovanni and Mercedes.

Bed rooms were clean , we lost the use of two toilets as one of the bathrooms flooded, outside kitchen not hygienic , tables outside dirty old and tatty also the chairs which were very rickety , taxis were reluctant to come to the Villa as the road is narrow

Villa was in quiet location but still walkable from the centre of Alghero . John our host was always on hand if we needed anything. Villa is a lovely old residence with a large well stocked garden. No indoor kitchen just the outdoor kitchen which worked OK for us as weather was good and we ate out in some of the fantastic restaurants in Alghero old town.

I would like to thank the owner Gaetano and the manager for such a lovely stay in this Italian villa immersed in the lush green landscape of Alghero, just a few minutes away from the best beach I can ever imagine. The house is really very large, lovely and homey. We stayed with 2 other couples and my 8 year old child and we had a very relaxing time enjoying the pool, playing soccer, entertaining and cooking. It's a wonderful house for entertaining as it has a very large walk out garden with two large tables for wining and dining. Another thing we really liked was that the house offers the maximum of privacy between all of us, as downstairs there is a separate suite with a bathroom and large adjoining room with a separate door. Upstairs the two other suites are also separated by corridor and doors to ensure a maximum of relaxation and comfort. The garden is fabulous and the pool is large enough to have a real swim and not just a splash around. There are enough lawn chairs for an army! The host was very graceful and very helpful and all the amenities worked to optimum standard: fridge, stove, oven, washing machine and dishwasher ect. We were very happy here and would highly recommend to anyone: families, individuals or groups of friends or associates; this is a wonderful place to relax and make some wonderful memories!
