Fantastic Whale's Tail View, Private, Modern Villa with Pool & River Access

We had such a lovely experience while staying here. I went back and forth between this house or a hotel and I'm so happy we choose this house. It made me feel like we got a real Costa Rican experience.Dont let the reviews of the drive-up scare you.It was a little scary the first time but we were totally fine after that initial drive, even in the dark. We saw a lot of cool animals and reptiles every drive up/down. We did experience both a power outage in the evening and a lack of water one morning, but there was excellent communication between the owner and Jairo. Speaking of which, knowing Jairo was near by if needed was a huge relief for our family since we were traveling with four young kids. We brought a package of 5 headlamps from amazon and that was plenty of light to light up the house at night the evening the mountain lost electricity.The property is gorgeous. Like....beyond gorgeous. It felt like heaven sitting on the balcony enjoying the plants, wildlife, and ocean views. There is a lot to explore on the grounds. We went to the stream/swimming hole several times. My boys just loved it. And the pool is so refreshing after a hot day exploring. The kitchen offers everything you need to cook a meal but I'll be honest, we mostly ate out at all the amazing restaurants near by. Dawn has great recommendations. My 4-year-old twins cried the first night back home because they wanted to be back at the butterfly house. We will definitely be back next time we visit.

Beautiful property! The view from the deck is unbelievable. Everything is very well maintained and modern. The drive up the mountain is an adventure but not scary at all as long as you have four wheel drive! Location is central to Uvita once you get off the mountain and convenient to dining and shopping and the beach!

We stayed at this lovely property for six nights. Our family of five (all adults) were very comfortable and each had enough space to stretch out and fully enjoy the peace and quiet this property offers. We loved starting each day viewing hummingbirds from the yoga platform and toucans from the deck. We enjoyed cooling off in the pool and star gazing each evening. The drive up to the property was a daily adventure, one my husband thoroughly enjoyed! The property is close enough to all amenities and yet secluded, and very privately set into the mountainside. The caretakers are on the property and available,if needed, but we never saw them unless we reached out to them. The owner was very accessible by both email (prior to arrival) and WhatsApp during the stay. I highly recommend this property for anyone looking for a quiet and relaxing vacation. We loved our stay here. The view was incredible! Our kids enjoyed the bunk beds, pool, and plethora of birds and butterflies to watch. Shower water was hot and the air was kept cool by natural drafts and fans. My only critique is that the sign for the property driveway could be more visible. It’s difficult to see coming up the hill because it’s around a corner behind some shrubbery. Also we could have used some written driving instructions. It was very helpful to have Jairo lead us there the first time but with two kids in the car asking one million questions the directions slipped out of our brain and then we got lost later. For anyone staying there, follow the signs to golden pineapple resort then look for the blue morpho sign indicating their property. All is good though! Jaíro and Dawn were very helpful and good communicators. Highly recommend.

We absolutely loved our stay here. If you're looking for a peaceful home-base that's not far from Uvita, but still adds to the adventure and your likelihood of seeing incredible wildlife, this is your place! We spotted an incredible diversity of birds each morning from the property (including Toucans almost daily, lots of tanagers and hummingbirds as well), heard howler monkeys in the distance, and enjoyed ourselves even when we were rained out of other plans. Do not underestimate the need for a good functioning 4x4 vehicle, and expect to be home before dark each night.

We loved our time at this property. The house is very modern, has all the amenities, and is very private. The view in the evening is great! The kids loved cooling off in the pool. Dawn is excellent in communication and facilitating any needs you have. I would highly recommend this property to anyone interested in staying in this general area. We used it a great launching point for visiting Corcovado Parl. The beath at Uvita was one of our favorites in the whole country.

We had such an incredible time at Morpho Eco Retreat. The property is jaw dropping every which way you look. We loved the pool and the waterfall down the trail. The house is really lovely with everything you need. Saw many toucans and other birds, monkeys, and even saw a Blue morpho on our first day! The steep drive up to the house is wild (definitely need a 4x4) but it’s. really fun. So many things to do nearby, Uvita waterfall is a fantastic spot that our boys wanted to go back to again and again. Loved this place!

Exceptional stay! We lived a dream, the photos do not capture the beauty of the place. Everything is in place for an incredible stay. Special mention to the view, the shower of the casita and the calm of the place. We did not lack electricity and water. The owners are available to answer questions. The cancellation conditions are also adequate considering the current situation. As already mentioned, you shouldn't be afraid to drive in steep places, maybe they don't emphasize enough in the description.

The location, views, and grounds are unmatched. Beautifully designed and appointed. Both the kids and adults loved it. Dawn took great care of us and working with Jairo was a breeze. We will definitely be back!
