Stayed May 9, 2023We wanted this to be THE place, but when we arrived, we walked into what felt like an oven. There were visible A/C units in the bedrooms, but we were told we could not use them because they were not hooked up for guests. A/C was not listed under amenities, which we had not noticed prior to booking the property. The week we visited was in the MID 90s. When we contacted Veronica, we were told the house was designed for cross ventilation and to keep the windows open. At night, the house was a little cooler but still in the mid 80s. Unfortunately, our group was unable to sleep the first night, so we decided we would book another house for the remainder of our trip. The host, told us it was our fault for not seeing A/C on the amenity list. It hadn’t occurred to me to ask based on the nightly rate and temperatures in Nicaragua. She informed me that I was gaslighting her and that we needed to take responsibility for our mistake, which meant no refund. When we woke up the next morning, we were shocked to find bat poop falling from the ceiling in the master bedroom. We were unable to get in touch with her, so we contacted VRBO. They asked for pictures and video, which we provided. After several hours, and getting settled into our new spot, we were finally granted a partial refund. But we did end up paying for the first night plus cleaning and fees. We do not recommend this property to anyone until the bat issue is resolved and the A/C is fully functional.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969My partner and I stayed for 6 weeks with his 2 year old daughter and some friends who came to visit. It was an ideal paradise. The home is beautiful, well-maintained, spacious and fully stocked with everything you may need to cook. The staff is AMAZING, cleaning the large pool daily and housekeeping staying on top of everything. They were kind, friendly and always attentive. A few days after our arrival, the barbecue wasn’t working very well (it was quite old). Within hours, a new barbecue was wheeled onto the property. The security staff was also wonderful, always a smile and a wave when we left the compound. Veronica, who was our contact at the property, was also very kind, always there to answer any questions we may have had, and she facilitated our transport from the airport in a way that made us feel well taken care of and comfortable. We felt totally at home. The house itself is huge, and only minutes away from the beach and the most lovely little restaurant called Juanita’s kitchen. The only thing I would say is a car rental is a definite must; the house is quite secluded and the nearest grocery store is about a 25 minute drive. It is also very wild—expect a lot of howling monkeys, some raccoons and other wildlife roaming around! They didn’t ever bother us at all, but we were surprised at how much life there is around the property! If you want a restful, quiet secluded home for you and yours, with a beautiful ocean view, clear waters, soft sand and a pristine lap pool—this is the house for you! We couldn’t recommend it more and we hope we get a chance to visit again! Thank you!!!!!

Stayed Dec 31, 1969This was our family's first trip to Nicaragura & we can not wait to come back. This house was stunning with amazing views & privacy. Having a private pool & cabana was a dream come true. The property manager went above & beyond to help us feel at home even showing us around the town & where to eat & buy groceries. The beach was a few minutes drive & very secluded. The house is 20 minutes from town (San Juan del Sur) & you do need 4 wheel drive because the road is very steep. There is so much to do around the town & many cool day trips to take. We highly suggest going to Granada & visiting the volcano Masaya. Our girls also loved zip lining at Adventure Park (don't let the weird mannequins scare you off!). Our only regret was that there is so much to do we didn't have as much time to spend relaxing at the house. Overall this was our best family vacation & we will be coming back & staying in this amazing house.
